Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

For anyone currently experiencing issues accessing fermentrack.com check your DNS. I was using Google which is not resolving at present. OpenDNS works OK 208.67.220.220

@Thorrak, thanks for sorting out those 2 hyperlinks! I've done 4 beers back to back since finishing my build, I've never brewed so much. Cheers

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Just an observation on the LCD screen scramble, I have only been heating over the last 2 weeks and no screen scramble at all. Seems it is only the fridge which introduces the issue and even then it is intermittent, not at every cycle. @Thorrak, when you get round to the firmware, maybe a neater...

@Thorrak, can you take another look at the Device Logs page. My install is still showing the link URLs the wrong way around: stderr.log takes me to http://192.168.0.110/api/log/stdout/1/ and stdout.log takes me to http://192.168.0.110/api/log/stderr/1/

Gear icon in the top right, then Django Admin Panel, Constance Config. Look for the RGB colour codes on Google. Tip: keep the chart open in a separate tab and refresh after each change to quickly see the changes.

Loving the customization of the chart colours, can't keep my hands off it!

They work for me too but are mainly duplicate functions of the buttons on the panels above the chart.

Loving the update! Absolutely great. What you got planned for the buttons below the chart? Are you just scrapping them?

Yes you can do it that way in Fermentrack.

I thought I would use something like this initially but I wouldn't have any use for it now. When I was troubleshooting the WiFi connection issue I was rebooting using SSH. I actually use the fermentation fridge a lot more than what I thought. Currently summer here in South Wales, UK.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Thanks for the updates Thorrak. It is a pleasure using Fermentrack :rockin: I knew there was something else, before the official release you may want to remove those buttons below the chart (at the bottom of a few of the screens) they are the ones that are just duplicates, we talked about it a...

PS. after that don't forget the LCD re-initialise ;) Then we have perfection!

Indeed, I thought it was to protect the ESP. I've got screen scramble ATM but other than that everything works fine.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

For what it's worth, I didn't use a logic level shifter with my build as I read that the ESP is 5v tolerant.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Been having a nightmare lately trying to get the Pi Zero W to keep its WiFi up. A lot of searches suggested turning off the WiFi power management but that did not help. I came across a few scripts that were all similar and reported that they fixed the problem, I can confirm the script works...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Awesome, just... awesome! :mug: I revisited the BrewPi charts and the 'dots' in the legend can be toggled to show/hide data on the chart. Not a feature I used but mentioned it for completeness. As a side note, 4 days into a profile and no screen scramble with mechanical relays lol

@Thorrak, sorry if this has been discussed previously. Next to the temperatures (to the right of the chart) is there any reason why you decided to omit the coloured legend, which is included in Brew Pi (little coloured circles)?
