Cool. From reading the posts here my plan was to use potting soil, add manure a couple of times during the vegetative stage, add biobloom 2-3 times during flowering and then harvest.

Just brewed a 3 gallon version of this using the (calculated) additional pound of base malt and London ESB yeast. We'll see how she turns out :)

Glad I came across this thread. I live in central Florida (hurricane alley) and have sandy soil. I put two 16X4x4's about 3.5ft in the ground w/a 12ftX2"X5" cross beam at the top. I was thinking of re-enforcing the vertical beams as they do telephone poles. Overkill?
Wyeast London ESB ale 1968 at 66'F.
Thames valley attenuation = 72-76%
London ESB attenuation = 67-71%
S-04 attenuation = 75%
So should one use an extra pound of the base malt if using London ESB? I would think the original recipe w/London ESB would give a sweeter end result correct?
For those that don't know, sissal rope shrinks quite a bit. I thought I left a bunch of slack but now I need to loosen everything after yesterday's rain. Good thing I used quick release clamps at the top :)

Haha nice! Yeah that part of the yard is pretty dead hence the trellis. I'm on an acre too and refuse to go broke making my entire yard look good. But yes you are right. I would say I have more of a green middle finger than a thumb :)

Next thing on the list is to figure out how to secure the two 16ft uprights that are only about 3.5ft in the ground. Wire anchors? Add two more and make a really tall pergola?

Also the cascade in the ground near the fence keeps getting chewed on by something. Had to re-bury. No picture of that one :(
