"5 Gallon" (19L) Slimline Torpedo Keg - Misleading Volume

In all honesty, they could shorten the handles to compensate while still having plenty of room for stacking and getting disconnects on the posts. I'm not sure how many people actually stack those things in the first place. I know I don't. But its sure one of their marketing highlights. The...

"5 Gallon" (19L) Slimline Torpedo Keg - Misleading Volume

Yep... Seems as such! FWIW, I have contacted MoreBeer about this and I have been having a conversation. The person that replied seems surprised to hear this and asked me questions about how I came to this conclusion and my method of measuring the volume. After I provided this info, I think I...

"5 Gallon" (19L) Slimline Torpedo Keg - Misleading Volume

Thanks for the video reference @CascadesBrewer as well as the info about the smaller non-slimline kegs! It would be nice to know if the same is true about the 5 gallon version. I went for the slimlines for horizontal space. I think the normal kegs are about the same diameter as pin-locks. I...

"5 Gallon" (19L) Slimline Torpedo Keg - Misleading Volume

LOL I just did the math on the MoreBeer FAQ statement. According to them, 50 12 ounce beers (their stated max) is slightly less than 4.75 gallons. Seems they expect you to check their FAQ and do the math aside from reading reviews.

"5 Gallon" (19L) Slimline Torpedo Keg - Misleading Volume

That's definitely a challenge, especially when some of them are questionably positive. MoreBeer just needs to provide clear information. Heck, the page for these things even has an FAQ that discusses how much beer should be in a 5 gallon keg. A consumers expectation is that they are getting...

"5 Gallon" (19L) Slimline Torpedo Keg - Misleading Volume

Hey HBT. I recently purchased 2 of the 5 gallon Slimline Torpedo Kegs. From a construction perspective, these things are awesome although it seems they may be a bit thinner gauge than the older kegs. Even so, I love the full SS, rolled handles and that I dont need to worry about a rubber top...

FotD Beer Swap XXXI: Brew Unto Others

I'm gonna pass on this round folks. Just don't think I can get a box together in time and not to mention, its hot now. 😬♨️ I'll probably jump in on the next one that should be later in the year with cooler weather for all the beer sitting on loading docks and front porches. :p But I cant...

Is it just me or are bottled conditioned Homebrew better than kegged?

But to the OP's topic, the greater majority of that bottle or can packaging is not bottle conditioned. Most is packaged off the bright tank.

Is it just me or are bottled conditioned Homebrew better than kegged?

Personally, I think kegged beer tends to taste better. I also think a lot of this depends on the beer. My brother and I regularly brew together; I keg mine and he bottles his. All from the same wort. When he shares a bottle with me, there's some off-putting flavor that I don't get with the...

+1 to not worrying about it. If you do have a clarity issue later, you can always fine with gelatin.

    Make IPA Clear Again

Fair enough, but definitely on the lower end. OG:1.054 and FG:1.009 lands you just shy of 6%. Don't get me wrong, its nice to be able to enjoy 3 beers and not be trashed. That's what I mean by "more of" a session IPA. Translated; more sessionable!

So more of a "Session IPA" huh?
