Ever brew with sugar maple sap?

I did a Maple Ale last year. A friend gave me 15-gallons of sap. I boiled in my electric boil kettle, until it was about half the original volume. I used this "sap" @1.015 in place of water for the whole process, mash and sparging. I used a simple grain bill of; 7# of 2-row 2# of...

    Adding a third faucet?

I'm adding a third to this; There's a dimple in the edge of the cap. Does the cap pop off or thread? Thanks in advance. Cheers

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Yes, this is typical. I had a 4" thick layer of Krausen for three weeks. After the Krausen fell I had little bits of floaters. (Protein from wheat?) I'm drinking the first pint from a keg that has been two weeks on gas. Tastes great with a nice apple tart/sweet finish. I will definatly brew...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I just kegged/bottled my batch that I started on October 6th. Followed the OP's recipe to the T, using Musselman,s. A sample going into the keg tasted pretty good! A bit dry. I'll sample the keg in a week. The bottles will age for some months for comparison. :mug:

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Going into week three in the primary..Still a layer of krausen with what looks like flakes of oatmeal. (none in recipe) Smells OK. Fermentation has slowed. Very cloudy. I used unfiltered cider, but didn't know about Pectic Enzyme. Looks a lot messier, at this stage, than any beer/ale I've done...

Wow! That brew looks idiotical in ever eye saw one!

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I put a batch together this weekend. I used the recipe from the OP. I did use cider, not juice. I used .5-oz of 5.8% Cascade and Safale 05. This is day 2 in a 6.5-gal fermenter. Looks cloudy. Is it too late to add pectic enzyme. Should it clear on it's own? I'm thinking, like other brews...

Sir. Aren't you aware that you post could be deemed off topic and relegated to the DYI or electric brewing forum? The process is interesting and could prove helpful in true organic brewing.
