Best names for your beer batch?

When America went from like 3 breweries to 5,000, all the really good names got taken. I came up with all sorts of fantastic names, only to find they were already in production. You have to be pretty sharp to come up with anything original now. I guess this is why so many factory beers have...

Speidel Sent me a Braumeister Cable

I bought a bag, and that ended my love affair with the Braumeister. Bigger beers, easier brews, less cleanup, and no worries about factory support. I brew on the stove, toss the wort in the pool to cool it, pitch, and ferment. Done. I seriously believe the main advantage of brewing systems is...

    Inkbird ITC-308 Froze my Keezer

The new probe came. In case anyone is interested in the repair job, I will give details. You're supposed to open the Inkbird up, use a soldering iron to remove the two wires from the old probe, insert wires from the new female jack, and solder them in place. This is what I was told, but when I...

    Bass and Whitbread: Bitters?

So I have had bitter, and I thought it was pretty good. Like a more sessiony, non-American IPA without iron-fisted, throat-punching dry-hopping. I wonder if the mild nature of many British beers comes from the fact that in the old days, a lot of British workers wanted to hammer a lot of beers...

    Bass and Whitbread: Bitters?

I am watching a video by an English guy who seems to consider himself an expert, and he says Bass Pale Ale is "very much a bitter."

    Bass and Whitbread: Bitters?

I never considered the possibility that these companies might have multiple products. Back in the Eighties, we just went into bars and said "Bass" or "Whitbread." Wikipedia seems to think Bass's only export to the US was Bass Pale Ale. As I recall, Whitbread was pretty similar to Bass, but it...

    Bass and Whitbread: Bitters?

Are Bass Ale and Whitbread considered bitters? For a long time, I've been wanting to try a bitter, but if Bass and Whitbread are bitters, I'm already familiar.

    First beer you ever had…

Sorry, but I can't remember anything that happened before I was two.

First time brewer, complete noob H-Town Texas

I'm sure it will be fine. Learn from my mistake, use the wifi, and set it to alert you if the fridge gets too hot or too cold. I mean like freezing or 110, not 65 instead of 62.

    Inkbird ITC-308 Froze my Keezer

It sure does! I learned all about it. After it was too late.

    Inkbird ITC-308 Froze my Keezer

So what is the freezing point of a quad?

    Inkbird ITC-308 Froze my Keezer

It would be nice to have a detachable probe AND wifi. I guess I'm about to. I didn't know I actually needed wifi until now. I thought it was just a fun gadget.

    Inkbird ITC-308 Froze my Keezer

Thanks for the suggestion. I believe that model's probe also fails, though, and since it doesn't have wifi, the keezer won't tell you when it freezes. The keezer is only up to 22 degrees. I better open the lid. I didn't want bugs in there.

    Inkbird ITC-308 Froze my Keezer

I found out the probes on these things fail. Inkbird sells a replacement probe for $10 on Amazon. The probe on the controller is hardwired, but the replacement comes with a new strain relief doodad that replaces the one on the original. You open your controller up, remove the wires from the...

    Inkbird ITC-308 Froze my Keezer

I went out to get a beer from the garage keezer. The temperature is set at 35. The actual temperature was below zero. The display temperature is about 48. The calibration instructions are not great. Is there a way to fix this, or do I need a new Inkbird? I stuck an idle Inkbird on the keezer...
