    Best starter kit to get....?

Yeah. Homebrewing is like crack, once you start you can't stop. :D If you are fan of quality beer and like a variety of beer types, you'll love homebrewing. You might as well get a decent kit to start out with. If your a BMC drinker, don't bother.

    Best starter kit to get....?

Assuming your going to at least start out as an extract brewer, you'll need something like this and this. You don't want to necessarily start with the "easiest" way, because you'll find yourself buying more equipment very soon. This stuff will probably get you by for quite a while.

    Extract Recipe Thoughts

Looks decent. Probably more of an amber ale. The honey malt will lend a very pronounced honey flavor, which if fine if that's what your going for.

What Temp Is To Cold To Ferment Ale?

What yeast strain are you using? 54 is too cold for just about any ale yeast out there. You will have very slow fermentation and low attenuation, which will result in a sweeter beer than intended. Try to slowly raise the temp to the low to mid 60's, which speed things up and increase...

Do My First Starter or Pitch Dry Yeast?

I'd buy 10 packs of yeast. :p Just smack the pack and give it a day (assuming you have a day). If it inflates, the yeast is fine and you can make a standard starter. If not, rehydrate the dry yeast about 1/2 hr. before pitching. Those continental pilsner kits usually come with ale yeast so...

    Any Tips On Using Honey

I recently used 1.5 lbs. in a pilsner. It ended up being a rather dry brew as planned. Honey is mostly sugar so it will ferment out almost completely so don't expect to get much flavor from it, mainly some dryness and increased alcohol.

Only one Hop forever. Which one???

Probably Warrior. High alpha/low cohumulone for clean bittering with a mild citrus/spice/earthy profile that would work for many different styles.

This cannot be right I need help

That's like 88% attenuation. Possible, but not probable. Are you sure your gravity readings are accurate?

    Widmer Brrr Like Hoppy Red

That rings a bell. I seem to remember it being more hoppy than sweet, although it certainly had a fair amount of sweetness as well. It had a very distinct Simcoe character if I remember correctly. I'm going to have to buy a sixer soon to refresh my memory.

    Widmer Brrr Like Hoppy Red

I'd lower the bittering hop amount and load up on the late additions. It's been a while but I seem to recall Brrr having a fairly intense hop flavor/aroma. I'd do a blend of Simcoe and Cascade at something like 20 and 5 minutes, and maybe even a dry hop. Whatever you do, keep us posted. That...

    Best place for keg kits?

Good call. $29.39 for UPS ground. Not bad I suppose. Time to beg for an early Christmas gift.

    Best place for keg kits?

Thanks all for the advice. This board proves to be extremely helpful once again. This kit looks more like what I need. Might as well do it right the first time. Now I just need to convince my wife. :D BTW, how much can I expect to pay for shipping?

Holy ****! Is that for real? They actually try to spin that as if it's patriotic or something! Too funny.
