How Many Corny Kegs Should a CO2 Tank Carbonate?

I had setup a 3 keg gas supply for a temporary setup and it was not holding pressure. Various checks did not point to any easy fix. I then took the manifold and all lines and fittings (removed from kegs) and submerged them in a plastic bin with 4 inches of water. turned on the air and...

    Electric System Problems

Looks like some corrosion on the wires at the connectors and some rust on a few screws on junction blocks indicating a humid environment. check the screws are torqued correctly all the way from the heating receptacle -> contactor ->ssr -> terminal block and if you find any that were loose that...

    Spike PRV was stuck

I let it build a couple psi then back the knob off slowly to where the pressure guage is just off the peg and let it bubble away. I would guess around 1 psi or less. When the bubbles really start to slow, I will bump the pressure up to about 5 psi to be ready to cold crash.

Heating element on, even when PID not sending signal

I assume the SSR input range is the same as the old one and accommodates 12 Vdc. Use caution working around live wires below! What happens if you disconnect terminal 6 and 7 from the dsp320 (with power off then repower to measure) , turn on the element switch and check the output of the ssr ...

    need to rebuild a controller

Any chance the usb cable is power only? Try a usb that works with another board (data and power lines work).

    need to rebuild a controller

Nice heat sinks on top, but I don't see them wicking away much heat the way they are attached. That is a composite enclosure, not metal? A good place to start on this project is to hook up the usb to a computer and have a look at the program that is on the mega board. There might be some awsome...

NEW Product Announcement - Spike Glycol Chiller

I had a similar experience. with 2 pumps in the tank, I stopped filling before 7 gallons because it was getting up to the return line holes and would spill if I put any more in. Then remembering to look at the sight glass, it was at 7.5 gal. I suspect the sight glass was calibrated before...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

This sounds like the best temporary setup. That old laundry drain looks like a better permanent option too. I was talking to a plumber yesterday about other things and ejector pumps came up. He commented about how they are very bad for septics due to the suspended particles passed to the septic...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

Based on your longer term plan, I would say put in a proper tank and ejector pump. The location of this may be farther from your sink than first impressions. Look at the potential location of the bath and how that would be plumbed in as well. Those joints are difficult , if not impossible to...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

Take a look at the installation instructions of the automatic drain pump you plan to use. I just randomly picked a drain pump and looked at the install directions. It specifically says not to use "one-way quick-vents or air admittance valves " so you will need to tie a vent into the unit...

    Tapping into existing drain pipe

I have only done enough plumbing to be dangerous (plumbed new kitchen addition, moved septic tank, installed new septic and well supply connections at the farm) but research rules and codes when I did and had most all work inspected. That looks like 2" dwv and I don't see enough room in the...

    Anvil Bucket Fermenter Closed Transfer

You only want 1 or 2 psi which would be tough to see on a gauge, so just turn the gas on and of during the transfer based on the flow you see in the liquid tubing. it helps to have the anvil above the keg, but I have done it with them sitting side by side. Patience is key because with the low...

    Mini Regulator gauge suggestion?

It is a mini regulator for use with co2 cartridges (so it is considered primary), but I am using it with 24oz paintball tanks which give me a small portable system.

    Mini Regulator gauge suggestion?

Yea, Something internal failed because the needle barely wiggles when pressure is introduced to it now. I am looking for a 0-30 psi gauge, but the threads appear to be 3/8 which is larger than the standard 1/8 that I see in many searches. May need to settle for a larger size dial and a bushing...

    Mini Regulator gauge suggestion?

I removed the gauge then scored around the sealant (seemed to be a silicone or plastic, I was expecting epoxy) and with a wrench on the body, broke the cover loose. The needle did not easily lift over the post without some force, so I do not know how it got to the wrong side. I don't think the...

    Mini Regulator gauge suggestion?

The plastic cover wraps over the sides and is sealed on the back, so tapping on the metal is impossible. I tried pressurizing it and tapping, but pressure just forces it against the peg. I may apply some heat to remove the seal on the plastic and try to remove the cover that way since it is no...

    Mini Regulator gauge suggestion?

The needle will not show pressure because it is on the wrong side of the stop (zero point). I was thinking about removing the cover to lift the needle over to the correct side of the stop, but it wraps around the gauge and seems to be glued pretty good to the back side. I don't think removing...
