    Critique my Witbier recipe. Please!

Thanks for responding! I'm actually making a double batch of this Wit with my buddy so maybe I'll use 3944 for one and forbidden fruit for the other just to see the difference. A little experiment if you will. :) So you would substitute the 1/2 lb. torrified wheat with 1/2 pound flaked...

    Critique my Witbier recipe. Please!

I actually thought about doing that since I have some left over flaked wheat I used from another beer I brewed. Do you know if the torrified wheat will serve the same purpose or should I add the flaked wheat too? Thanks for responding btw!

    Haier wine fridge fermentation chamber

Hi everybody I'm actually going to pick up a Haier HEC 30 bottle wine cooler I found on eBay for $75 tomorrow. Do you guys know if this is the same as the Haier BC112G cause it looks exactly the same and if so will my 6 gallon better bottle with spigot fit inside? Also are you guys able...

    Did I skunk my brew?!

Thanks everybody for the responses that makes me feel a lot better I've been using the old shirt trick since then just in case though. So far it's looking and smelling good and I'm going to pick up a 30 bottle wine cooler on Saturday to use as a fermenter to help dial in my temps. :rockin:

    Caribou Slobber

I made the extract version before my current brew on tap and it was awesome as is! I drank the entire corny in like a week and half with a small amount of help from my buddy who surprisingly liked it being he's more a wheat beer fan and hops sensitive. :drunk: He's a fellow home brewer...

Can near empty keg cause overcarbed beer?

Sweet I'm learning!!!!! Look mom no hands!:rockin: So is there anything to be done like a fan or something to circulate the air or is it just kinda par for the course?

Can near empty keg cause overcarbed beer?

Ok so been doing some reading and some brainstorming and I could be grasping at straws here but I wonder if it could be a temperature issue. From what I understand cold air sinks so most refrigerators are colder at the bottom than the top but to what degree I'm not sure. That said what if...

Can near empty keg cause overcarbed beer?

It's been kegged since Thanksgiving using the set and forget method. I thought it was weird too although I've actually experienced the same thing with my other beers but they were force carbed in like 2-3 days at high pressure and drank fast so I attributed it to that. This one I felt...

    Perlick flow control?

Definitely worth it IMO. I've had really overcarbed beer serve fine using my flow control faucet without having to mess with the CO2 tank. I'm currently bout to add some more taps and I won't have one without this faucet if that tells you anything. Def worth the extra cash.

Can near empty keg cause overcarbed beer?

So I have a question I'm hoping you guys can answer. I currently have a corny of Altbier that is almost empty that the last few beers I've poured from seem to be overcarbed. For the majority of the keg the pour has been great until just recently which prompted me to check the keg which is...

    Did I skunk my brew?!

Well I smelled the airlock and it didn't smell that skunky if at all. It smelled more like hops than anything kinda like a ranger IPA. I am still planning to dry hop with an ounce of cascade hops so hopefully that'll mask any skunk smell I might have gotten but not sure about the taste. I used...

    Did I skunk my brew?!

Hi all I'm new to the forum but have been brewing for about a year mainly extract with specialty grains. Anyway I think I violated a cardinal rule this morning on accident. I'm brewing a black IPA and its currently in its 26th hour of fermenting. Anyway this morning round 6 a.m. I removed...
