Thanks I found a thread on aging with oak and the difference between cubes and chips. Chips impart flavor really quickly and people are saying 1 week is usually good. I'm considering using cubes though since I want to age this out a bit anyway but thanks for the info.

No I didn't clog up my drain line. Its possible it is clogged since its older and I haven't checked it.

What was your recipe? How long has it been fermenting? Some of the stronger ones will take time to mellow out and taste good. Especially higher proof apple wines.

I personally like my ciders carbonated even the drier ones that have a white wine like finish but I'm not a wine drinker. Its all personal preference and that's one of things i like most about making my own ciders and beer is I get to choose how I want it.

Never thought of using craisins. For some reason I thought they'd have preservatives. Out of curiosity how much did you use and how long did they stay in? I still think I'd rather try fresh fruit if possible, but its good to know that craisins can be used.
