GromitDJ has been helping me a lot with this, and i hope to have a board developed soon. You're right the connection fro the middle to the top switch plug is and it shouldn't be connected to anything, i think effectively the switch toggles whether the battery is charging or powering

No I didn't, but it explains how I've made a mistake, I think I've ballsed something up to do with the switch where I thought that the middle pin of the switch needed connecting to the live which I thought made no sense at the time.

Yes it's something like wifi-reset.bin I don't use window but SSH into the pi and flash via the RPI and terminal. When I do that i can see when it's done as it states complete in 32seconds etc.

Should change time using "sudo raspi-config" Although I'm not sure whether Fermentrack is using universal time, as I've just changed my time to reflect BST and it's still logging and hour behind. I don't think the ESP actually holds a time it just gets the instruction from the RPI.
