Yeah this is what I meant when I said you have to have the battery connected. There's is not enough power from the USB through the lipo.

The wemos won't allow it to be much narrower.

I guess you should be able to just swap them out, but I'm not sure which way the diode would need to face. One thing I have noticed though in doing this, is that my wemos would not come out of deep sleep unless it was connected to the battery. I guess the USB to the lipo just isn't powerful...

One SSR is about the same size as the dual relay.

are you after the wiring? My SSR Brewpi actually acts as a Sousvide, so doesn't have anything attached on the cold side. but in terms of wiring this gives you a good example of how it should be wired. then going from the SSR to the Arduino ground goes to ground, and then the + goes...

On the brewpi I use with the LCD I do yes, but I find as my fermentation chamber is in the cellar I use my phone to get the temp more often than not. So I use the cheaper relay and don't have an LCD attached.

I used to get it all the time using a mechanical relay, none at all using an SSR, I don't think we ever truly got to the bottom of why some scramble and some don't.

I wasn't planning on selling, the idea was that they would be very simple to hook everything up. Also based in the U.K. It probably wouldn't be very viable to send an assembled board in the post.

Pcbs have been in fabrication for a little while now so hopefully will be sent out soon. I'll give the calibration a shot on my iPad tomorrow and see if I have a bit more luck. It goes into calibration but then seems to time out.

Has anyone had any issues with the auto calibration? I get the light blue and then after a couple of minutes get and error and the light stays solid so assumingly not having calibrated successfully.

Would you not still want to remove the lid to ensure the ispindel had been properly cleaned?

Mine was a few points out from the hydromet of but I'm waiting till me boards come through before I use it proper as every time I take the cap off to charge the angle changes a few degrees as it's not fixed in yet.

I can't say I notice a huge difference between any of the RPIs I use in terms of speed. I think the key is a decent connection via wifi or Ethernet probably has a greater impact

I probably started out at the same level as you having never touched a circuit board (or at least not since school). google, youtube, searching this thread are great ways to build up your knowledge, I did little more than that and now am quite confident in being able to knock something together...

Not getting prompted to upgrade has it been pushed yet??
