Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Any idea what could be causing (or rather how to get rid of) this error oddly it only happens on my iPhone and in safari. It doesn’t seem to affect anything other than just being there.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I've been experiencing this too recently, what I've found strange is that the device is (seemingly) still working in the back ground just not communicating with the RPI.

I leave the LED on my gyro so I can see it it was power, might be worth checking the connections?

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

When it flashes repeatedly about ever 1/2 second it will allow you to access it as a wifi point. Try pressing the reset button repeatedly 4,5,6 times or so quickly and see if that kicks it into access point mode. If not try flashing it again, that should put it straight in the access point mode...

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

When you say it flashes do you mean one constant flash? If so you're in the right direction. You need to then open up your wifi settings on the computer or device and select the new network called ISpindel. And set up. If you ever need to get into settings again you need to hit the reset about...

I think it gets a bit lost in translation, you're not short circuiting the wemos as such by removing the diode. But by removing the diode you are preventing the wemos accidentally drawing power from the USB (whilst flashing) and the lipo powering it. Which knowing how sensitive the wemos is to...

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

The diode on the wemos is a must the gy led is optional, I don't think the power drain is an issue and helps to show that the power is on. There is a picture somewhere in the thread that highlights what you need to remove, I cut it out with wirecutters

Just as an aside though, and an update on battery charge length, I've set my current iSpindel to send a reading to Ubidots every 15 minutes and the battery has lasted for over 40 days (how long it's been since I transferred my Kolsch) and there still seems to be battery life left. it's the...

I've had no problems using the resistor on both of my iSpindels.

I think the issue here is that the wemos is 25.6mm so you only have 2.4mm to play with, I think you'll struggle.

BrewPi@ESP8266, no need of RPI and Arduino.

I guess that's just the limitations of you heater. The same will happen if you cold crash. You can make your graph look smoother by setting your beer to ramp over a longer period of time which will smooth things out.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I'll have to check which one I am using with my Sousvide as that seems to work fine with the LCD attached to it, but Im not sure which board that is using.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

No no LCD attached or door sensor, and it's worked fine up until this batch.. I think if it drops out again, I'll go and check to see if there is any power going to the ESP. I don't think it switched to cellar temp I think it just switched off.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

So something's up with my version of Fermentrack, (or possibly the RPI) a few days ago I logged on and had the cannot receive LCD, so I updated (as there was one available and it kicked it back into life same profile etc. Logged in again this morning and again it said it couldn't receive LCD so...

Am i right thinking that flashing the device will wipe all the current assigned devices.

Yes you can do it, my soldering level is amateur at best and I managed to solder the bits together to get it to work. Hardest bit for me was cutting the breadboard to size. The board I put together makes it's a fair bit easier. You can get everything you need from the German site I listed...

If you go back to page 4 of this thread I link the pelting I got from ebay. Word of warning though it doesn't seem to fit the sleds that you can download from the iSpindel GitHub but the one I bought from 3d-mechatronics.de did fit perfectly.
