HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

No you should get a setup walkthrough when you type in the ipaddress to the web browser, sounds like something has gone wrong during the install, probably better to take a read of the last few pages of this thread...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Yes Raspbian is pretty big, although if you can downlaod a lite verison if you're OK with command line, which is a bit smaller in terms of formatting, take a look at https://etcher.io its the formatter recommended by Raspberry Pi org and seems to work well across multiple platforms, so that's...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Sadly it doesn’t seem to have worked??? It is really odd as you had fixed it, as my earlier screen shots show the angle was there and then a couple of hours into the brew it stopped logging. Let me know what I can send to try and help debug.

I ran a check on mine last night it’s still on and working just not sending the reason for angle through to Fermentrack?

This looks similar to my issue with iSpindel you gravity reading looks like Fermentrack is recording your tilt at 0 degree angle (vertical) hence reading being less than water

Yep all up to date most recent firmware. The odd thing is as per the CSV dump on github it was logging it and then just stopped. If I wasn’t a couple of days into fermentation I’d fish it out to check that that it’s actually registering tilt.

Of course it is.... I wonder then if the iSpindel gyro has packed up then? I can’t check until it’s finished fermenting.

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

no that's right, getting it into setup mode and connect to it via a computer (as they're easier to keep awake than a mobile phone), then select info and it gives you real time tilt. I used a 10g tyre balancing weight vertical right at the bottom of the sled and a 5p coin glued above it. it was...

Is the iSpindel angle saved anywhere in a log on Fermentrack? My digging around just seems to find values that are converted to gravity.

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

Youll probably need about 11gs at the bottom of the sled on the opposite side of the battery. You’re aiming for a 25degree tilt in water.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Is there anyway to get the current angle from the iSpindel device whilst its logging? I’m trying to calibrate the iSpindel in brew but now the current angle has disappeared. Can’t get to the stderr logs at the moment but as you can see from earlier post it was detailed but on set up of a...

Ignore that it just took several minutes to refresh the data.

@Thorrak ignoring everything past the 1st entry of the attached. Should I be using the current angle under the extra data from device I.e 73.9 or the angle my iSpindel is reporting the 23.5? when calibrating. And should they both me the same anyway?

I had this too but it was resolved with the latest upgrades, including moving to stretch

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

Yes, for me 3D mechatronics provided the best value in overall availability of the parts, I believe he’s also worked with UniversalSam. So I agreed to him having the board design And selling it. I really struggled to get hold of a sled in the UK.

Not sure whether the stderr.log will help but hopefully it's attached, spewing out errors at the moment but nothing in the last hour.

no nothing that suggests that iSpindel is sending anything to fermentrack.

attached is the info with tilt and temp so i'm not going mad it does work...??? just doesn't log to fermentrack?

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Has anyone had any issues getting the iSpindel to communcicate to Fermentrack? I've gone through the set up process, when going into the iSpindel config i get an output of temp and tilt. I'm pretty certain i've updated the info correctly, everything is on the same wifi network, i've got it...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I noticed something similar too, that after i did a fresh install of both Stretch, Fermentrack and a fresh flash of my ESP8266 (from serial to wifi and then back to serial again) i found that, when i set up my device it remembered all of my old probes, heater, coller etc, so i think the ESP must...
