Storing Open Package Of Dry Yeast?

Hi, I ran across a 1kg package of dried wine yeast and only plan to use a small portion of it. Can I just repackage the rest into a mason jar and store in the fridge?

Where is this particular Apfelwein label?

Yes! Excellent, thank you very much! For some reason it doesn't come up in the search results for me. I have a friend I wanted to give a bottle to and thought this label would be perfect. Thanks again!

Where is this particular Apfelwein label?

I remember a few months back seeing a label or logo for apfelwein depicting an apple wearing I think Lederhosen. It was a very colorful and looked prefessionally designed. I searched the forums and didn't have much luck. I would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction, thanks.

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Wow, made 2 1/2 gallons of this and everybody seems to love it. SWMBO likes it with some Sprite, friends like it straight. I can't keep myself from raiding the bottles. I can see now why it is recommended to start another batch within two weeks. This stuff is pretty amazing. When I made it I...

    What got you into homebrewing?

I started brewing because I enjoy beer. Mostly because I enjoy beer with flavor. Some time back I discovered microbrews and craft beer. This is what really got me started. I thought to myself that it would be great if I could make my own beer. I looked around online and found Mr. Beer, it seemed...

Thanks for the tip. I use the ice bath method myself. This will come in handy. Just a little something I found that may help others understand why this works.

    Swirling your beer?

"By gently swirling the beer you can disturb it just enough to allow its aromas to be amplified for a moment. Before swirling your beer make sure you have your nose ready to do some analyzing." http://www.cureforwhatalesyou.com/2007/01/23/how-to-taste-beer/ Though it seems to me they kind of...

    contamination?

Well, glad to see someone with more experience than myself chimed in. Like I said I'm no expert, and I wasn't trying to get you riled up. It just seemed that nobody caught on to your edited post about your friend drinking from the bottle. Being a novice home brewer myself one of my largest...

    contamination?

If I read that correctly you let your friend sip the wort from the bottle. If this is the case then there is possibility for contamination. Check out http://www.howtobrew.com/section1/chapter2-2.html the picture shown on the page was a sample taken from wort that was spit into. It doesn't state...

    Good LHBS in San Francisco?

Well, I think you should give them a visit anyway. I've never been there or ordered from them (I use AHS and Midwest for my online orders), but if given the opportunity I would stop in. Now granted, the guy that started the thread had a bad experience with them online but that doesn't mean you...
