    Why Uncovered Boil?

A covered pot also boils over faster/more often. It'd have to watched even more. And you know, a watched pot never boils. :p

    Spelt and Buckwheat

Right you are. See, I shoulda been looking at the recipe while posting. 0.1 oz cardamom. 1 oz coriander. And it does say crushed cardamom. This is ground. Will definitely use sparingly. Like a pinch. I don't have a 0.1 oz scale. No, Bob. Know that I did not. I mean, I know about the malting...

Riding Lawn Mower - Which One To Choose?

Had an MTD (Murray?) with a Briggs and Stratton. Why would you think I mean castration, Microsoft? What do you think I do with lawn mowers? It was a rugged beast. Snapper is still a commercial favorite. Tough as tough can be, easy to use, easy to work on and parts are readily available.

    Prius?

All right! Prius owners. On long term mpg. Sounds like the Prius keep their mpg very well. Yes? Our Kia Spectra has declined on mpg. What used to be low 30s is now high to mid 20s. That's with properly inflated tires, full fluids and regular oil changes; all that good stuff. We've also had a...

    Prius?

We're looking at Prius for mpg, dependability/durability, decent creature comfort and wow it's a hybrid, neat-o mosquito. Priced a battery. $2,718.10. Warrantied for 8 years or 100,000 miles of free replacement. Premature failures are low and many, many people are reporting battery life of...

    High gas prices = hypermiling?

Looky what I dug up :cross: I turned mid 40s into near constant low 50s on my motorcycle by coasting with the clutch in while shifting into lower gears as my speed reduced in light traffic*, not taking off like John Force from traffic lights and keeping my speed 60-70 on 60mph highways...

    Anyone use these for bottling?

It's more about that big initial release of CO2, less carbonated drink in the bottle and the agitation of pouring than it is loose caps. But yeah, there is always the chance the cap won't seal right again. That little insert has already been crushed and maybe the cap got bent.

    Prius?

Anybody? Tell me all about it.

    Anyone use these for bottling?

Most folks eschew screw caps, but hey, try a bottle. If it still has the insert in the cap, all the better. Maybe flip it over. Or maybe try a piece of good plastic wrap cut to fit as an additional gasket.

    Store bought Honey

I bought clover honey from Sams. Whatever brand they had. Made mead. It worked. Did it work better than having bees puke directly into my bucket? I dunno. I aint a beesmaster.
