Hey great call out and I was mixing up transplanting with digging up a rootball for rhizome harvesting.
Just after harvest would indeed be the right time to get this thing in the ground so it can establish itself a bit before the cold sets in.
Ok I'm interested. I'm up in El Cerrito, but we can figure something out.
Can you send me a PM and we can work it out? (I apparently don't have enough post history to send PMs)
You might also check out the brulosophy article on hopping with Saaz. Not exactly what you're doing, but an interesting read and might give you some ideas of what to expect flavor/aroma-wise. They also used quite a bit of Saaz for the DH so that may be a good reference point as well.
The Hop...
I had a similar situation - had 2 plants and 1 did great and the other not so much and needed a move. Did a little research and seems like you're better off waiting until early spring before disturbing them and transplanting.
Looks like everything here is in great shape. I've been looking for a setup like this and just haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Do you still have the spider? I just didn't see it in the 2nd set of photos.
Also whereabouts in the Bay Area?
