Leaking keg, I think it may not be repairable

I had a buddy who lives down the street that had an extra keg I had to rack into... I got this keg for $30 on CL as part of a kegerator deal.

Leaking keg, I think it may not be repairable

This weekend I racked into this particular keg for the first time. It has all new orings, and keg lube on all the orings. When I aired it up it was leaking co2 from the beer post. It turned out that the leak seemed to be coming from the actual keg it self. Co2 was bubbling from around the...

Moving from tap water to RO water

I've been using tap water and adjusting it using a water spreadsheet. I have been getting a dry/bitter almost astringent taste in most of my beers since and I'm finally noticing a pattern. A friend said it could be due to excessive pH in my mash. Would using RO water fix this problem if the high...

    Canadian Pills

I've been trying to have my dad over for a brew day forever and tild him we would brew something he would like. He is a pretty big pilsner fan, and loves Canadian style pilsners, and I had him try a Czech style pilsner this weekend that he enjoyed. So with that said... any good Canadian Pils...

    Stir plate enclosure

I'm going to be building a stir plate soon, I was wondering if anyone has found an enclosure like the one the vortex from Northern Brewer is encased in. I would like a round enclosure, just based on aesthetics.

    Heat rock for fermentation chamber

Would a reptile heat rock work as a heat source for a 5 cubic foot fermentation chamber? I am using a fan right now and it heats up the chamber too much so that the freezer kicks on, it has a thermostat but will not kick the fan on at lower temps. I don't really want to go the light bulb route

Brew stand for rectangular cooler MLT

yes, I think I have it figured out. I'm going to build a Wallace type stand and attach a blichmann floor burner to it high enough so the valve of my boil kettle (which I will also use to heat my strike water) will be barely higher than my MLT, so I can gravity feed my MLT with strike water and...

Brew stand for rectangular cooler MLT

I've looked though about every brew stand thread known to man and I can't find a standard for a one burner rectangular cooler MLT set up. Most of the rigs I see are for HERMS or RIMS systems.... anyone have a rig for this set up that works well?

    Raisins in a Bock

I just recently had DFH raison d'etre for the first time and it's getting close to time to brew my annual Bock. Anyone ever had raisins in a Bock before, if so what was your impression?

    Blichmann Floor burner stand

mark that looks awesome, would love to have that brew rig, trying to do it on the cheap though. I have an aluminum speed rack from an old hospital that I may try and cut apart and reassemble

    Blichmann Floor burner stand

I have searched a little bit and haven't found anyone out there that has built their own stand for the blichmann floor burner. I need the top of the burner to be about 36" off the ground (for a gravity fed system) and instead of buying the extension legs which will only net me 24" I was going...

Clone Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout Clone

two weeks after bottling I tasted this next to a founder's breakfast stout. I don't think mine was as hoppy or as coffee forward, chocolate still came through. Aroma was close, so was body. I wasn't trying to make an exact clone, just a good stout and I think I accomplished that goal! I can...
