Just messing around with a new app on my phone. I'm a die hard drag racer, so each of my brews have a car themed name.

    Smoking grains and recipe advice

I waited until the smoker was under 100, then just added some small pieces of Hickory that were left over to the remaining coals. Didn't think about making them damp. Put the 1 pound of Maris Otter in an open foil pack and let it go for 1 hour, then put them in a sealed container. I don't have a...

    Smoking grains and recipe advice

Well I just had a pint of this and it turned out awesome. Chose not to add the Brown Sugar, was 1.042 OG, ended up 1.010 for a 4.2%ABV. Primary only, 13 days of fermentation, added 2 heavy toast oak spirals after 6. Kegged at room temp, 35psi, shook for 5mins, chilled at 39F for 24hrs.

    Can't find a CO2 leak

I had an internal leak in a gauge a while back. Would not produce bubbles, but was audible. Disassembled the gauge, sprayed again, and found a pinhole in the brass. Soldered it up, good to go. Can you hear it?

    Smoking grains and recipe advice

I posted in the smoked/aged section, but figured I'd place it here too to get more traffic, since I plan brewing in the next 24-48hrs. I will be smoking a few racks of ribs tomorrow, and I thought about trying to smoke some grains after when temp dies down. Was thinking of doing 45min at around...

Advice on smoking malt, and recipe.

I will be smoking a few racks tomorrow, and I thought about trying to smoke some grains after then temp dies down. Was thinking of doing 45min at around 100-120F? My thought is to steep those grains in a English mild extract batch, then add oak spirals to the fermenter for a "Smoked&Oaked"...

Thanks. Yeah it has taken a lot of geometry plotting front and rear to get the transfer and traction. Although most of the components are aftermarket, the suspension is all in the factory locations, and only a 10" tire is used. Just for comparison sake, here are some other stats from the track...

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas, Happy Thanksgiving! Just finished kegging a scotch ale, and bottling a small batch of it with oak cubes and sea salted caramel. Looking forward to enjoying some good food and washing it down with a few homebrews today. The car I race is a 1970 El Camino that I...

    Keg Force Carbing Methods Illustrated

I'm new to kegging, only been through 4 so fat, but here's how I've been doing it with good results. From the ferm to the keg, no cold crash. 40psi, lay the keg down long ways so the gas fitting is on the bottom, shake back and forth with short strokes for 10mins. In the kegerator for 12hrs...

    Newbie saying hello from NC!

I've got two main hobbies, drag racing and brewing beer. Horsepower&Hops is life. I've been brewing extract for a few years now, just recently built a kegerator in my shop. Looking forward to learning more from the great members on this forum, perhaps stepping up to all-grain in the future. Prost!
