yeah cal v would've been a good bet, i used wlp001... og came out to 1.062. just finished brewin so now its time for a few beers + football!

Got it at target. They only had one when I went, and I think they're only carried in areas with a decent size Mexican population. I'd give em a call before you go in. It's a pretty cheap pot- will dent if you drop it. But supposedly it works fine! :ban...

Thanks for the input. After a bit of time searching, I found a cheap 32 quart tamale steamer for $20. Not the best brew kettle but its a start. Now on to conquer the next issue... water :eek:

I only have a 5 gallon stockpot and wish to make a 5 gallon batch. How much will it affect my OG by boiling with 4 1/2, then diluting with a couple gallons after the boil? What if I boiled a couple gallons on the side, adding proportional amounts of hops to both? Thanks!

I have my mash tun pretty much built, except the marine store I went to only had 1/2" ss fender washers and I have no ability to cut them. Anyone got an extra 5/8" ss washer they could send me? I would be happy to reimburse you for it. I'm real anxious to start my first AG batch so let me...

I couldn't find the Crystal 15L on any website. Is it fine to just get 7 oz. each of the 10L and 20L? Also, the Centennial and Chinook whole hops are sold in 2 oz. quantities on Austin's site. How much of a difference would it make to use pellet hops to save money? I'm planning on doing this...
