    Well, my basement floor's a mess. I came back from vacation today to a basement floor covered in shards of glass and dried beer. Only problem is, I checked, and only a couple of the bottles had gone off. Another one popped about 5 minutes ago. I had never heard a bottle bomb go off...

    Uh oh! Too much priming sugar?

    Not sure if this should go in this forum or in the bottling/kegging one. I had a cider ready to go, and set everything up to bottle today. I put a 1/2 pound of lactose and 1/2 cup of priming sugar in, as I had a 4-gallon batch of cider. Got everything rigged up, started siphoning the cider...

    VERY Bitter Cider!

    Heya, folks! So, my first cider batch finished fermenting. It's tasty, but it's very bitter. I'm thinking of adding some sort of sweetener to it as I bottle, but I don't know how much would be enough! What's a good amount to add to a four gallon batch? Also, I'm thinking of adding...

    So. The brew was going quite smoothly. Sanitizing was a breeze, I had thought ahead and ran all my water through the purifier beforehand, stuck right to the hop schedule, added in all the extras at the right time, everything seemed to be going great, right up until I added in the aroma hops...

    Can you use honey before you put it in bottles? An alternate question: Would any supermarket have corn sugar? A still alternate question: Can you use brown or cane sugar? :(

    What do you use for bottling? How much? I have a beer ready to be bottled, but I lost the recipe and cannot for the life of me remember how much of *whatever* I should be using. I've heard one cup of corn sugar or one pound of honey? This is just a simple Blonde Ale, but I'm nervous...
