    Any negative effects using a smaller boil keggle top openings?

    I am really new to this, so does this mean that with the kettles with larger openings will reduce boil off time? im thinking that would be a good thing?? I am the guy with the 18 inch pot, but like i said i am new to this.skip...

    Ok My Pot Is Here...

    I ordered a 12 gal pot for my 5 gal batches. My question is, the pot is about 12 inches deep and 18 inches wide. This means it'll only be around 6 inches at 5 gallons. Is this so shallow to cause problems, or am i AOK... Its a beautiful stainless pot and lid with layered bottom. I found them...

    Thanks kilted brewer, im surely gonna stay 5 gallons. i guess the 48qt pot wouldnt be to big in that case. i think its a pretty good deal. Would most little simple walmart burners do ok, or will i need a bigger btu?

    Looking at going to allgrain. I'm looking at a 30qt stainless steel pot, i only make 5 gal batches. It's really thin ,but i'm on a budget and its around $50.00. Ive heard alot about scorching the wort? Would it be possible to place a big cast iron skillet i have already under the pot to help...

    The names! The NAMES! I'm so confused...

    Most of the time these names come from the area the grape is from, the type of grape being used such as pinot, and the color of the wine your making. I'm sure there is something out there to google on wine names and or brands.
