I like this process, but I'm assuming your are then serving from a keg. I like to bottle my beer but would think this would hinder natural carbonation in the bottle. I've never had too much luck with bottling from a keg. Any tips?

Update on my progress. I received the replacement BMB Evo2 from Northern Brewer and the new universal lid fits fine in it. I also had them send me out 2 of the original lids. I still think the combination of the 2 lids seems like the best solution. For my original BMB Evo2, I may just...

When the new universal lid is inserted, does it go all the way in? Mine has about a 1/4" gap. I just can't push it all the way until it is flush with the top of the ferment. Is this normal? It seems like its making a good seal, even without being fully seated.

Well I ordered on of the BMB EVO 2 glass fermenters and when it arrived, I couldn't fit the new universal lid into the fermenter. The actual opening of the fermenter was too tight. I called Northern Brewer and they immediately sent me a new fermenter and universal lid. I got the replacement...

That's really interesting. I wonder if they got a bad batch of fermenters. They told me to keep the original one, but its kind of useless without the top. I'm thinking about finding someone who could grind the glass down to get the top to fit. Not sure if that's even feasible.

Has anyone used the new universal lid for the glass Big Mouth Bubbler EVO 2 fermenter? I've seen a lot of posts about the old lids have leaking issues, but haven't seen anyone review the new lids. Just want an honest opinion from someone besides the company selling the product.
