I used to think Boston Lager and thought it somewhat hoppy, now I hardly notice the hops at all. I am not a hop head but I enjoy the occasional Ipa. My wife with seem to notice every ibu over 2. Not that she dislikes it but she is far more sensitive to hops than I am.
My wife went to a bar and asked what they had for beer, the waitress gave the usual bmc list. My wife asked then for the craft beer list. The reply was " oh, all we have for dark beer is Alaskan and shocktop" my wife's reply was Facepalm, and an Alaskan amber. Yeah she does good.

I pivoted on the ball ball on my foot and in a single motion with my heel knocked over the flask crushing it and sent the base whizzing across the room. At first I had thought the hydrometer survived the chaos but it did not and lay in two pieces. That is why I bought 2 hydrometers from eBay.
That's hilarious, my 3 yo walked over to the kegs at northern Brewer and says "Passat". The sound from me releasing the exsess pressure when the keg is empty.
I just brewed this yesterday, pitched a saison blend I bottled dredged. Forgot to take a gravity reading cuz I was fixing supper at the same time. Also went off and used home grown hops for bittering, nugget and Columbus for at 60 hershbecker 2.6aa for at 15 min and saaz 2.2aa at 5 min.
So I did brew up this recipe with a little less roast as was suggested. I had selected Bavarian lager yeast but it seemed to never start. I ended up using pilsner yeast. It should be fine.
