    Yes that's the yeast that came in the kit. You're right it did say west coast. So what is the optimum temperature then? Thanks for the suggestions on the burners.

    Thanks for the warm welcome and tips. I got a Brewer's Best equipment kit and IPA ingredient kit. I've been reading quite a bit and the wish list of equipment is growing, but I don't want to rush. I've got time set out next weekend for the first brew.

    Long time beer aficionado, but brand new to homebrewing. My wife got me a kit for Christmas and I am just now getting around to trying it out for the first time. I figure for the first go around I will just follow the kit instructions, but looking forward to much experimentation in the future...
