3-in-1 "Boil Kettle, Jacketed Chiller, Conical Fermenter" by Brewha

I use a carabiner and clip the handle on the lid to one of the handles on the 3-in-1 when I'm not using it.

3-in-1 "Boil Kettle, Jacketed Chiller, Conical Fermenter" by Brewha

I have been reading thru the thread again for mention of using a bag in the colander. I've done 8 batches in my medium BIAC and waiting for the raised colander to drain is a PIA. Plus I think dumping a bag and cleaning would be easier than a colander. Anyone have experience with a bag? If so...

    New HERMS setup question

I've read posts where two identical batches were done. One with a lid during boil and one without. In blind taste tests the testers could not tell the difference.

The question was would using RO in the BIAC be different than the recommended additions form the spreadsheet. The answer was NO.

RO doesn't make any difference in the 3 in 1. Do what you usually do.

    Frozen Belgian ipa

I've frozen beer in a carboy. It usually doesn't freeze that hard and if you gradually thaw it I don't see any harm.

I've done 35 pounds and it was pretty full. You could do 50 lbs + if you pull the basket up and do a sparge after.

    Issue troubleshooting 50a pid panel

When you say you checked the element wiring do you mean with a multi-meter? Are you getting voltage from the PID to the SSR?

    RTD Probe in Tee

I want to avoid having the liquid exit 90* from the inlet by having the probe inline with the Tee. Why? Worked well for me for several years. Had a 3 inch probe so the fluid flowed around the probe on the way out.
