I have been reading thru the thread again for mention of using a bag in the colander. I've done 8 batches in my medium BIAC and waiting for the raised colander to drain is a PIA. Plus I think dumping a bag and cleaning would be easier than a colander. Anyone have experience with a bag? If so...
I've read posts where two identical batches were done. One with a lid during boil and one without. In blind taste tests the testers could not tell the difference.
I want to avoid having the liquid exit 90* from the inlet by having the probe inline with the Tee.
Why? Worked well for me for several years. Had a 3 inch probe so the fluid flowed around the probe on the way out.
