If it's about the small stuff, I'd consider shipping...buyer to pay actual shipping costs.

If you had to pick only 1 northern brewer kit to ever brew again what would it be???

I've done a lot of NB kits - Octoberfest, SH2B, Caribou Slobber, Waldo Lake Amber, Honey Wheat (converted to Tangelo Honey Wheat), Innkeeper (in process), Black IPA (in process) Waldo Lake Amber was the best brew I've ever made, no question. I think the key was Denny's Favorite 50 yeast.

    Brewery names--what's your story?

I'm calling my outfit "Cold Beverage Brewing Co". I got that from G Love and Special Sauce's song "Cold Beverage". That song makes me want to go out in the heat and brew! Logo, version 1: Youtube video (of the song): William

Next equipment and recipe purchase from NB...suggestions welcomed.

I made my chiller, but if you're looking for amber kits, try the Waldo Lake Amber. My keg is about to run dry, which will be a sad day in this house.

    Woo hoo! New brew kettle

Just swapped it around, and I do like it on the inside better. I was concerned that it wouldn't seal well on a concave surface, but I'll give it a whirl and see how it runs tonight. William

    Woo hoo! New brew kettle

Thanks dude. This hobby is killing me! I started out with a 2.5 gallon pot on my electric stove. Then I got tired of doing the ice bath thing, so I made a rib cage IC. Then I had to move it outside because my kitchen faucet didn't have a tap for the chiller. So I borrowed a turkey fryer...

    Woo hoo! New brew kettle

So I fired up the kettle to season it by boiling water. The kettle overhangs the burner (hell yeah), so the spigot doesn't get the spillover that the rest of the pot does. Just to be safe, I put some foil over the handle. The foil never even got hot. There was no discernable heating of the...

    Woo hoo! New brew kettle

No joke. I was talking to the dudes at BMW (my LHBS) about having a local brew day. They can't do it for liability reasons. We should organize something! :ban:

    Woo hoo! New brew kettle

It's the thicker one. The 4mm one was $12 cheaper, but I figure you only live once...

    Woo hoo! New brew kettle

I got it at a restaurant supply store. I think I paid too much for it - it was $87 including the lid and tax. It's heavier than the standard Al pot. It weighs about 11 pounds or so!

    Woo hoo! New brew kettle

I'm concerned about heating too. That was another advantage of using the tubing as a dip tube, I can move the whole valve up an inch or so. What do most people do about that? I noticed that my valve is higher up the side than on a Blichmann Boilermaker. As for the external o-ring, that...

    Woo hoo! New brew kettle

I know it's probably not a big deal for the masses, but I'm stoked about my new 10g brew kettle I put together. It is a Crestware heavy duty aluminum pot with a bargainfittings.com ball valve assembly and a pretty simple dip tube. Bargainfittings.com is awesome, and the new valve is super...

12X16 building with a loft big enough?

That building was constructed so crappily it makes me wonder why they even bothered in the first place. Oh well...good luck to you. I'm jealous. I finished my garden shed just as I got back into homebrewing. Oh the possibilities!
