    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

Agreed, Thanks, FastBrewing, for listening and responding. This could have had some negative impacts, but you guys swept all that away with your responsiveness. I'm filling up the FF this weekend with a new batch! :) Cheers!

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

Yup, a lot of happy users - I'm one of them. That being said, I agree with jbb3....pushing reviews here is fairly annoying. This forum is for experiences/fixes/questions/gripes, etc. We've learned a lot from each other here, and quite frankly the manufacturer has as well. It's the issues...

Kampenken... Soot...might not be the best advice, but it's worked for the 'lanta boy and me so far :mug:

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

I also haven't seen any clogs, but I leave the valve open from the get-go. Although, one batch, I had to go overseas for a few weeks, and when I got back the ball was as full and compacted as I've ever seen it. The trub/sediment was definitely up in the valve into the conical, but one good empty...

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

Hey there abbysdad, There's a lot of posts in this thread that talk about it, but, here's thew basics in a nutshell: 1: Carefully sand the top to make sure it's flat. Use a block of wood and about 150 grit. 2: Carefully clear the mold residue from the top and bottom threads. I used a really...

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

Yup, I also have had success with Safale S04 at the bottom end of the range, but as jbb3 said, give it plenty of time. I also got fooled by the not-so-spectacular-seal on the top of the FF. I've learned to disregard it, even with the silicone gasket seal. I've depended on hydrometer measurements.

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

I also haven't posted much, but I've been keeping up wit this thread. I like the FF - but go back and forth from it to carboys. I haven't had any real trouble with it, but bottling from it seems to be a bit more of a pain than doing it from a bottling bucket. I do like the ease of transfer...

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

Well, as Co2 is heavier than air, there's no real problem with oxidation. The CO2 layer on top of the beer stays there when you open the top. As long as you are gentle with your stirring, all is good there. In this case, BellyBuster is absolutely right...it's kinda hard to oxidize the beer in...

    FastFerment conical fermenter??????

I haven't had this happen yet. I've done a number batches in it so far, but I also empty the ball periodically during the first few days of fermentation. Perhaps this makes a difference? I also rap on the sidewall here and here to cause "landslides" inside. But I haven't dry-hopped in the FF...
