Need help figuring ABV on double fermentation

So I made a chocolate raspberry stout a while back (turned out awesome BTW, won a 2nd place ribbon), but I can't figure out what the alcohol % is. I started at 1.070. 10 days later it was at 1.020. I added 75 ounces of canned raspberries and that brought it back up to 1.028. 4 weeks of slow and...

    H.F. 16' Flag pole? ---> $36.00

We bought a house a while back that had a big flagpole right in the middle of the yard. My wife wanted to rip it out, but it's the perfect place to grow hops! I have 4 plants that I put in 4' from the pole with stringers running up top the top. I can lower those all at one time just like...

    BJCP Style Classifications help?

For the rye beer, it is very much like Terrapin Rye with a few differences noted below. What catagory would that fit into? Mine turned out a little darker with a little more hoppiness. I think it is too dark for a 6D. I'm guessing that 23 specialty is a catch-all for anything that is different...

    BJCP Style Classifications help?

I've got a couple of beers that I'm unsure what categories they would be in. One is a fairly mild red wit beer. The other is a darker, slightly stronger and hoppier rye beer similar to Tarrapin Rye. Ideas?

    oily mouthfeel in my brew

I thought I would post a followup in case anyone was interested. I gave it another 5 days and tested it. The FG didn't change at all, but the oily stuff went away. Kegged it and just had a pint. Even without the chicken, this is my best beer yet!

    oily mouthfeel in my brew

I think I'll just let the beer sit in the primary a little longer unless I hear something else. I'll wait on making any beer with cock in it, too.

    oily mouthfeel in my brew

I knew as soon as I dumped it in that I messed up. Gypsum was supposed to go in early and malto-dextrine late. You think that is the problem?

    oily mouthfeel in my brew

I really didn't want to post an "I think my beer is ruined" thread, but I have a problem. I've got a Rye IPA sitting in the primary after 17 days, and it has a strange oily mouthfeel that is pretty bad. I tested the sample after checking the gravity. It tastes good, but the aftertaste is...

    Thanks for the tips!

How to keg 1/2, bottle 1/2?

I've got 3 gallon kegs. I guess I can add the sugar, and just try to not get too much air in when stirring, right?

How to keg 1/2, bottle 1/2?

I'm just getting into kegging and I got a couple of small kegs. I plan to fill one keg and then bottle the rest. What is the best way to do that? I normally add the bottling sugar into the bucket when I transfer, and then fill the bottles from that. I don't need (or want) to add sugar to the...

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

I'll try Irish Moss with the next batch. I'm excited to try some different hops. I only had 1 oz of Cascade so I used 1 oz of Willamette with it. Still finished very smooth. Thanks! :mug:

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Just drank my first bottle of this. I'm very pleased. It doesn't have as much flavor as my other stuff, but this is just what I was going for; very quaffable, light, refreshing, etc. Will be easy to drink lots of this. The hops dropped right out. The color is light, but not too light, good head...
