    plastic conical question

    i know breweries that use the bigger versions. they have been using the same ones for over 2 years. Just hose off, scrub gently, run PBW through it, and then sanitize right before you use it. Shouldnt be a problem, just dont use anything abrasive to scratch it with.

    bargain fittings, i have their stuff on my kettles and such. its the good stuff and you cant find it for cheaper unless you want to piece it together from many different sites and pay for shipping for all those sites, which then would make it not cheaper.

    Cheap fly sparge DIY

    we did the same thing with a Stainless Steel bowl we got at a restaurant supply shop. Drilled some holes and $3 latter we have the same thing. best part, it fits perfectly over the top of the homedepot cooler. the lip sits right on it.

    i saw a 10% jump in efficiency when i started mashing out. Probably helped with sugar extraction. We didnt change anything else at the time, we had just changed our crush a few batches before but were still in the 78-82% range, now we are hitting 88-92%.
