    Briny Melon Gose HUGE Success

i'm not an expert, but if you're planning on kettle souring, it sounds like the info you got is backwards. pitch the lacto at 80 or so degrees, and let it go a couple of days, or until you get the pH you want. then you can boil it, and treat it like any other beer you'd boil. pitching the...

    Amarillo or Mosaic?

i've done a mosaic SMASH & an amarillo pale wheat (gumballhead clone). while both turned out great, i'd take the amarillo wheat beer every time.

    Ale Pails & Lids

yeah, i live in MI, but not exactly next door to AiH. i usually order lots of other things, so the extra shipping is usually worth me not having to drive an hour+ to one of their locations. side note, i've never come close to having a blowout doing a 5 gallon batch. i've had a couple of...

    Gumball Head Clone....WOW

It sounds real similar to the recipe I made. I cant find my recipe right off hand. It was the first time I made it, so I cant say the changes i made in the hop schedule made a huge difference. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it was for the better. I'm not sure how sorachi ace will pair with...

    Gumball Head Clone....WOW

i made this last summer for the first time, and i bumped the FO & dry hop additions to 2oz each. it was easily one of the best things i've made. a couple of months ago i was able to get my hands on a few bottles of the real thing, and this clone is spot on.

    Three Floyds Gumballhead Clone?

http://www.homebrewing.org/Three-Floyds-Gumballhead-Clone-All-Grain-Recipe_p_4839.html i've never had the actual beer, but ive made this twice. the first i followed the exact recipe. the second time i put in 2oz @ 0min, and a 2oz dry hop for 5 days. it was considerably better IMO...

    Burner Help!

i wasnt expecting it to be such a huge difference in efficiency either. i just knew that the fryer i was on took too long to get 6-7 gallons boiling. i didnt even mention how quiet the blichmann is in comparison. it's a whisper compared to the jet engine my fryer was :D

    Burner Help!

i had a turkey fryer, and upgraded to the blichmann. it was one of the best upgrades i've made. it might be a bit more expensive up front, but in the long run, you'll save money by the gas you'll save. not to mention the time savings by getting your wort to a boil faster.

    Propane burner question

About 10 minutes into a boil I ran outta gas. I was already a couple beers in, and my wife wasn't home for another 30 minutes to give me a ride. I had to wait it out, and be paranoid about where I needed to pick back up. The beer turned out alright, so I must've guessed alright :D

    Propane burner question

if you're tank is full, you shouldnt have anything to worry about. it's the next couple of batches that you have to start worrying about it. it's always good to have a spare on hand though. you never know when you'll forget to check your tank, and end up running out of gas as the boil...
