Nursing Pot size for 1st year

Dan, the reason for the pots is that we're planting 200 so it makes a few things easier... 1. we don't have to rush to set up a 18ft trellis as they reccomended only building a little 6 foot high one and keeping the pots tight for the first year 2. its easier to control soil for the first year...

Nursing Pot size for 1st year

Hey Guys, we`re planting hops this spring and I talked to a couple of growers that said they had great success starting their rhizomes in pots the first year and then transplanting the hops the next spring into the soil. I`m pretty sure they said they used 1 gallon nursing pots but after taking...

    Where to get Cedar Poles

Cedar has a natural preservative in it unlike other poles which would rot faster (3-4feet is buried underground). Pressure treated would be great but would disqualify us from organic certification, which we're thinking of doing down the road.

    Where to get Cedar Poles

Hey guys, I'm from Victoria BC Canada and a buddy and I are determined to put 200 organic hops rhizomes in the ground this spring. We've got a few ideas for potential trellis designs but we're having a lot of trouble finding a place to get cedar poles from. Building supply stores don't carry...

    Cooling a Room for Lagering

Hey Guys, a buddy and I decided we'd like to try making some lagers instead of our normal regiment of ales so we've built a cooler room thats 5x10x8 (400cuft) at one end of my barn. Any ideas on the best way to keep the temp down to 35degrees? Our first thought was to tear apart an old...
