    Hops for a rhubarb beer?

I'm thinking about brewing a NEIPA style beer with a rhubarb addition. Just wondering if anyone would like to make some hop reccommendations.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

This is maybe an odd thing to ask in a one gallon thread but here goes anyway. I have been brewing one gallon batches for six months now and will definitely be continuing to do so. Two of the things that attracted me to this approach to brewing were the very small amount of special equipment...

    How to fix my blunder

In case anybody is interested I ended up mashing more wort with the original grain bill the next day and then adding that to the overhopped original batch. I have had a couple of bottles already, although it was really brewed for a special event later in the summer. In my opinion it has turned...

I don't believe this grain bill - brewdog elvis juice

I had my first bottle of my Elvis Juice clone yesterday. I did a blind taste test on my wife and son between a bottle of the real thing and a bottle of mine. She picked correctly but he didn't. My beer was a bit more bitter and a little less grapefruity than the real thing but very drinkable...

    Re-using bottles

I seem to remember being told once that home-brew beer should only be bottled in bottles that have previously held bottle conditioned beer. The suggestion was that other beer bottles aren't strong enough to contain the pressure caused by bottle conditioning. However, I have been wondering...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I have always done that. Be for using the muslin it didn't seem to be help in much. I assumed that was because the hole sin the colander were so big. Maybe I should have run the wort through a few more times.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I have been a one gallon all grain brewer for a few months now and I have had 8 brew days. The first couple were a steep learning curve as my mash temperatures were all over the place. Then I got on top of that and started hitting 70% efficiency. But I was getting an awful lot of true in my...

Belgian Blond Ale Revvy's Belgian Blonde (Leffe Clone)

Well, I used the percentages given in the recipe to tweak it to my preferred brew size and target efficiency and then brewed it up last night. I didn't hit my target efficiency so I ended up with an OG of 1.060. We'll see how it goes.

    How to fix my blunder

Just realised that I have made a major blunder... Have been brewing a treacle oatmeal stout today and just realised that I used double the amount of hops and treacle that I should have done. That has pumped up the OG by ten points and the ibu from 35 to 70. So what do I do now? Leave it as it...

    Elderflower beer

The chocolate malt in that grain bill is a bit of a surprise. The consensus seems to be that elderflower works best in pale beers. Having said that, it is a very small amount of chocolate malt. The leaves and stalks of elderflowers are poisonous so you have to use just the flower heads...

    Elderflower beer

I had an email a couple of days ago from Green Jack, a local microbrewery. They use 1kg of fresh flower heads in 36 gallons of a pale ale base recipe. Which works out at about 1oz per imperial gallon.

Belgian Blond Ale Revvy's Belgian Blonde (Leffe Clone)

Revvy, apologies in advance if this is answered elsewhere in this thread but I don't remember seeing it. I just wanted to check that your recipe is for 5 US gallons so that I can scale it to Imperial gallons for my own use. Thanks in advance.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

So my first brew was bottled seven weeks ago. I drank the last but one bottle last night and it is certainly not as good as it was a couple of weeks ago. So that has got me thinking about a brew that I am planning on doing for a special event in August and wondering when I should brew it to make...

    Elderflower beer

Thank you both for your replies. I don't keg, I bottle so I will have to work out the right amount before I add it. Are those amounts for dried flowers? I was hoping to be able to just use fresh flowers for simplicity. However, maybe I will have to go down the tincture route. I...

    Elderflower beer

I am lucky enough to have an elderflower tree in my garden so I am thinking about an elderflower beer. There don't seem to be many elderflower recipes around so I wonder if anyone has one that they could share. The few recipes that I have found all seem to use either an elderflower extract or...
