I don't have a greatbreweh but I have a similar pump. Mine is directly connected to the kettle.(check my sig). Priming seems to be an issue with these pumps. I would try first lowering the pump so it's a little lower than the outlet of the kettle in the begining. In the video it's sitting on...
I would suspect the 3000 watts would be enough to boil 7 gallons. I know I've read some people have luck with 2000 watts being able to boil 7 gallons. I'm guessing there are some other factors involved like kettle dimensions. Personally I've tried using one 2000 watt element and it was not...
I wouldn't trust it to hold the weight. I could probably bend it in half just using my hands. It works great if you are setting it on a counter top though.
I was walking through Ikea and noticed this. It fits perfectly under my 44qt Bayou Kettle. Stainless and only 7 bucks.

Not sure its the case here, but I always had trouble boiling with just a 2000w element using a large diameter pot, when i switched to a smaller diameter I could achieve a weak boil. Ultimately I went with 2 x 2000w elements
I would tend to disagree on the only needing a 2000w element. I think there are a few variables that might come into play. What volume are you boiling and your pot diameter being the two biggest factors.
In my experience I was unable to get 7 gallons to come to a boil using a one 2000w...
I think it depends on how much you want to invest. You could pretty easily go tphjr route with minimal investment, or you could build a full on electric kettle. Which you could then add in the HERMS coil.
While neither of these are HERMS systems. I would think they would get you the...
Is it a gas or electric stove you're using? there are a few examples of people using an electric stove in combination with an electric brew kettle. Some have even unplugged their stove to use 240v.
If it's gas I would be very careful. The heat that would come up the sides of the pot put some...
I got the generic versions off Ebay. Although it looks like the seller currently isn't selling any, you could try messaging them directly. I got 7 sets of for right around 30 bucks.

Russki,
I was getting ready to add a sight glass to my rig, but can't decide if the eye bolt that holds the top of it will get in the way of the basket. It looks as if you were able to get the basket in past the bolt on some of your pictures. Does it get in the way at all? There really...
I use generic versions of them in my setup. They're very nice. I like the way they twist lock so much better than the regular speakon connectors. Alien got it perfectly the blue goes to the blue and grey to the grey.
This page shows a good diagram of the difference, it's basically impossible...
