    Hi all, my Cider has been finished for awhile but do to computer issues havent been able to log on.     White bucket for secondary?

    Is their any reasons I can't use a White Bucket with Airlock for my secondary? I have one I use for my Primary and broke my Carboy would it hurt anything to use my second primary bucket as a secondary?

    OK I racked my Cider today I am still new at this and don't think I read the sg right it was 1.22 shouldn't it be lower? Does it matter the primary was kinda thick with apple pulp? T had a glass and it tasted like a dry wine with that hint of cider. I plan on bottling in a couple of weeks.

    Grrr.... Broke my Carboy!

    :mad:I just broke my Carboy! I thought it would be easy and convenient to sterilize my glass 6 gal carboy in my over like my bottles, well I set it at 150 to warm up nice and slow and next thing I know i here a thunk I looked inside the oven and the bottom of my carboy is broken out and cracks...

    I didn't take the gravity at day 2 I thought it was to late. I am just using the natural yeast from the apples .

    I get 14 litter Food Grade buckets from my local wegmans bakery. They are a little small but their free and and work good for my small experimental batches. :rockin:
