    Reusable plug-in dehumidifiers??

There was a post a while back about dealing with condensation in keezers/kegerators with the typical Damprid/silica gel suggestions. Someone posted a link to a source for plug-in, reusable dehumidifiers. I believe they were around $10-15 each. You placed them in your work space and when they...

    Grain Mill Suggestions

If you are looking for one that is good to go right out of the box, then choose a Barley Crusher or a JP. I just purchased a Monster Mill MM-3 with stainless rollers and 1/2" driveshaft. Fred from MM is/was running a sale, check the vendor board for details. He doesn't currently offer a base...

    Greetings from Daytona Beach, FL

Welcome to the board and to homebrewing. I used to vacation in Daytona every year. I hadn't been there for several years, but I was shocked at all of the development down towards the Inlet when we were there last year. The Lighthouse Landing was always a great place to eat and escape from the...

    Finally have something fermenting again!!

This batch is for the wife, her idea on the spices. I told her that it would probably be way too much, but she said that she loves cloves. I suggested less, and adding more later to taste if needed. She was excited because it was her "recipe" and wanted the cloves. I will probably have to do...

    Finally have something fermenting again!!

I started a 1 gallon batch of spiced cider last night. I used 1 gallon of White House All-Natural Apple Cider, and added 5 oz. dextrose, 2 cinnamon sticks and 15 whole cloves. I am fermenting it with Montrachet. It took off and was bubbling in less than 4 hours. I haven't fermented...

    Filling secondary with water?

The clerk sounds like a winemaker. It is common practice to top off wines with water after racking to eliminate headspace. I would never do that with beer. There will be enough CO2 coming out of suspension during the racking of the beer to not worry about the headspace too much.

    Oxyclean ring?

I have done this same thing before. What I did was to remove some of the water from the carboy and replace it with hot water to above the ring. Mix it up a bit and let it soak for a while. Make sure you use enough hot water to make the whole solution nice and warm. Hit it with a brush and...

Anyone know of a good place to get 4/5 way secondary regulators?

Send Todd at Keg Connection an email or call him. I just bought a 3-way secondary from him. It wasn't listed on his site, but he got me one. Based on what I paid, I would guess that the price on a 4-way would be very competitive. KegConnection.com Home Page

Is there any need for a stir plate wiring schematic?

Post as much detail as you can, just do it in terms that people without much electronics experience can understand. I am sure there would be interest, as some of the links in other build threads are now dead. Throw in a complete parts list as well if you have that info. You never know, you...

How much head space for primary??

Thanks for the quick response. I have another question. Is Star San okay to use for winemaking, or should I stick with sodium metabisulfite like the directions say?

How much head space for primary??

I just bought a Stags Leap Merlot wine kit to make for my wife. I was wanting to find out if I would be okay using a 6.5 gallon carboy for a primary. I have never made wine before, so I don't know how active the fermentation is or how much krausen forms during fermentation of a wine. The...

Stirrer : Best Value Stirrer Anyone have any experience with this company or these stirplates? I happened upon their site while searching for stirplate info.

    Keg o-rings - silicone vs Buna-N

Is silicone that much better than Buna-N that it makes it worth the price? I noticed that the silicone is listed as FDA compliant and the Buna-N isn't. I am hoping to get my kegerator finished this weekend, and was going to order extra o-rings and parts to have on hand. Thanks for the advice.

    Promash Update?

http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/promash/vpost?id=2265455 I have been checking out the different brewing apps available. Promash seems to get rave reviews, but hasn't been updated in a while. I found the post above while looking through the Promash site.
