Just thought i would post my experience.
First cider ever.
5 gallon fresh cider from mill
3 lb light brown sugar
Champain yeast, dry.
Brought juice up to 180 F for 30 min
Mix in sugar.
Cool to 65 F
Pitch rehydrated yeast
Ferment 21 days
Bottle 5 oz corn sugar
Est 11% ABV...
I'm realitively new to brewing. I figure my costs about $20 US for 5 gallon batch, all grain. Found that normal american beers just don't have the tastes that I like any more. If I do buy beer it is Sam Adams and runs about $33 a case here. The beer I am brewing has much better taste to me than...
