Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Bourbon Vanilla Porter (AG)

I used a small bottle of pure vanilla extract (about what I have seen recommended) every time I make this and then end up aging a minimum of 4 months. The vanilla is still very much there and I find this to be much more smooth and worth the wait. We killed a full 5 gal keg at a birthday party...

What do YOU do when the beer tastes blah?

You can do a quick forced dry hop with a coffee French press. (This also can make an IPA very epic)

    Third Shift Brewing?

I wish Utah got NB... Third shift was drinkable. Not much more. The swmbo was duped by the packaging and though she found a new gem for me. I set the other five in the back of the fridge for when the in-laws are over. The old man loves it.

    Green Beer

The beer in the line may age (never tested this theory) but it will be flat and not great by any means. Normally I just drop the first few oz before filling the glass. Helps ensure stuff that has fallen out of suspension in the keg doesn't end up in my glass.

    Video game tap handles?

I can see someone making their own video game based tap handles and maybe a few for close friends, but you will be hard pressed to find someone making them for profit. Even on the vast internet. There is issues with Copyright infringement for someone making money from something like that.

    Automated Rig Piping review

Are you gravity feeding into the BK? otherwise I don't understand how you are going to get fluid from the MLT to the BK. Whats going to stop the fluid from going to the HLT coil?

    Bottling from a never-tapped keg?

Although I have found that force carving and filling from the keg to be easier for me, I have use a 1/4 teaspoon of corn/priming sugar in the bottom of each bottle ( that is if they are 22oz bottles) and then using your filler and co2 reg to fill the bottles works really well. Then you can set...

Game of Thrones Beer: Has to be something better than a blonde ale?

I would think a Winter "is coming" Lager would be a better beer. Or perhaps a dragon's breath something.

    Scoooooorrrrrrrreeeee

LOL, I'm thinking of calling BS on this line. :cross:

    Why no mid-range fermenter options?

Or you could go with kegs and pressurized fermentation. That has been the middle ground for me.

Efficiency or should I say Inefficiency...

I would also calibrate you temp readers. The crush might be your real issue. I would also look into doing a starch conversion test next time and make sure it looks converted that way. But realistically the only reason why it wouldn't be converted would be due to a temp issue.

Temps too high in these mash instructions?

The mash conversion is close to +-80% complete that quickly, the last +-20% takes a bit more time. Typically a home brewer can wait the longer time and get much better efficacy. A brewery is going to have great efficacy and time is money so they are ok with getting lower conversion rate and turn...

    Star San Cloudiness (with pics)

I read that the cloudy Starsan "Myth" was based on if you used distilled water. As you can tell from the OP's pictures the distilled is clear. and after using it over and over it will become cloudy and that is when you need to start testing it. The Starsan mixed with tap water is generally...
