Fermentation has started again after 2 week doing nothing

Forgot to mention I am going the wild yeast route. I will cover it to keep the light out. Is there any reason why you have to leave it for 2 months before drinking

Fermentation has started again after 2 week doing nothing

When I first made my cider . It bubbled away for 2 days and stopped, colour was dark sg 1.04 . I was thinking of bottling it then suddenly it has burst into life again and started bubbling sg 1.05. Is this what they call second fermentation, if not what has caused it to spring into life again...

    Strange colour cider

Hello . I did take sg it is 1004. I picked my own apples from a mixture of trees , some I picked off the tree and maybe were not quite ripe, if they fall the sheep tend to nibble them not to mention the wasps.

    Strange colour cider

Using wild yeast, fermenting has stopped in 4 days but the colour has changed from a cider colour to a brownish green dark colour. Tastes like apple juice , smells ok. Is this normal please.

    Help with cider making

Thanks for all the advise, mrphillips . I am using wild yeast, which is no yeast accept that which is in nature. On the apple skins I have been informed, unfortunately I washed the apples which you should not do, I have now been told. Will give the cider a slight shake to see if it gets going...

There is a layer of froth on the stop but I have not seen a bubble for a day or so, although I don't stand and stare at it for long. I will take the pg and see if it changes as you recommend. Many thanks for your advise I will keep you informed
