Yeah, I found that out the hard way. After fifteen minutes and the lid still scorching hot I made a snow bath in the kitchen sink. I think the whole cooling process took over 30mins. I hope I didn't mess up my beer.

Just ordered the ingredients for this today. The LHBS doesn't have a great variety. It'll be my first beer not using a kit. Still using LME and partial mash. Also ordered Wyeast 1099 for it. I'll check back in a couple weeks! Oh, I guess this is my first post! I've been lurking for years but...
