    Beer/Wine Hybrid-Need Help

I am looking into doing a beer/wine hybrid within the upcoming weeks. I am looking for a good grape to use, but I am a newbie/un-educated person when it comes to wine grapes. I was wondering if anybody has some input, or a place to buy decent grapes for a hybrid beer. I am looking to make...

Winter Seasonal Beer Great Lakes Christmas Ale Clone

I brewed this about 14 months ago, as my first batch by myself. I was a little nervous when it was first completed, as it didn't taste like the first time I had the actual beer. But now, I love it! It tastes amazing, but I only have 4 bottles left, and wished I had more. So I am going to age...

    Bourbon Vanilla Imperial Porter

I added the entire bottle, and it only increased the ABV by less than 0.5%, because your only adding 10 oz into 640 oz. so not much of a change. I would believe your hydrometer would be able to read it with the bourbon added, I just calculated it out.

    Bourbon Vanilla Imperial Porter

It turned out amazing. Best beer I've brewed thus far. I will be brewing this beer again in the future!

    Steeping Grains

60 min is the ideal time frame for extracting the most amount of sugars for your beer, anything less will cause lower ABV because it can cause some of the grains to not fully extract all the sugars, more time is better, I do 75 min for most beers and usually hit a little above the estimated OG...

    Citra hops

Be careful with those citra hops, use them in the last 15 min of boil! otherwise you will have a funky aroma to your beer, i.e "cat piss". Love citra, but be careful! Source: Experience with Citra!

    Steeping Grains

eeeerrrr! incorrect, lower temps at higher times will extract more vital sugars for higher ABV!

    The Cat Pee Vanished

I used citra at 60 and 10 myself, I got cat crap smell. Im not sure if it has gone away or not yet only bottled for 7 days. Aroma was like cat crap, but taste was good. I hope all is well with my brew!

Should I keep this in the primary or bottle it?

Doesn't hurt the beer if you leave it in primary, but you will be fine to bottle/keg!

    Bottling Tomorrow!

+1, gravity readings for 3 days primary for at least 2 weeks. I just did a beer that was 3.1 %, let it stay in primary for 2 1/2 weeks, even though it was done in 4-5 days, yeast still have some work to do! Little foam, but a krausen you will notice. wait a few days, to be honest before you...

    No bubbles in air lock

Sounds like a leak to me too! Should be able to pick up a new lid for 10-12$ at your LHBS. Also airlock activity isn't the bible, hydrometer son! Last beer only bubbled for a half day or so. But make sure you leave that beer in the primary for at least 10 more days, the yeast need to finish up...
