Forgive my lack of knowledge and my second post for the same situation.
I have a wealth of ingredients purchased through bulk buys a few years ago.
I have searched around and not found a recipe whose ingredients I can completely satisfy (as evidenced in my prior post).
If anyone would like to...
Thank you very much indeed! Perhaps I will post new and list what I have for grain as well. Rather than 'get by' I a sure there is a recipe that could be made with what I have - I just can't seem to figure it out.
Cheers
It's been a long time since I've brewed. I'm finally gearing up to give an all grain biab a shot this weekend.
Quite some time ago (years) I purchased loads of ingredients through bulk buys (hoping to start brewing a lot earlier than I have). This has left me trying to figure out a simple...
Perfect! Thanks DakotaRules and Sam! I think the angled supports will work for me - it will bring the drop downs closer to the diameter of the burner. Has anyone had any issues with the flat bar (the non L shaped pieces used for drop down to connect to burners) holding up under heat? I...
Any advice appreciated; have built my weldless stand (pic is partial complete - have it built to hold all 3 vessels now) and am trying to figure out how to mount the hurricane burners. The diameter of the burner (where the mount holes are) is smaller than the frame (therefore I can't just...
Have you ever tried to brew an apricot wheat in the style of the macauslan? It's my SWMBO's favorite too, and I would like to produce something similar to help justify all the money I am spending on gear for her!!
Just wondered if you had any advice (as I think it would still be relevant to...
thanks for your replies!
To add some more specifics for you;
I will be using converted kegs for all three positions (HLT, MT, BK) - I'm avoiding as much plastic as possible in the brew process, planning on doing 10 gallon batches.
So if that allows anyone to give me some more specific...
Okay!
I know there have been similar posts. I have tried to search around and inform myself with existing information, but I am unclear on a few things.
The Mission: lowest cost adequate equipment for my burgeoning all grain setup.

Hey there,
(should I have posted this in the other burner thread?)
Just looking for opinions on my choice of burners;

Okay! thanks for all your replys and advice! Once someone (mike) wrote I think "We" can fix it, I knew I was in the right place.
With laptop in hand I boiled up and dissolved some extract, with a wee bit of sugar, let it cool and poured it carefully in. I dreamt of angry fermentation -...
No hops or extra fanciness at all over here. Really, I had hoped to just start with the ultimate simple brew to get started and atleast do some learning (which I am most certainly doing now). I know there are better ways, better ingredients, and better beer - I just started off with what I...
Wow. Here is an ultimate newbie F'up for you guys. I think if I had to show my face on the forum I would probably not even admit to this - but o the faceless internet. Here goes;
This 'kit' brew is also designed to be combined with dextrose and some light dry malt extract. My last 'can' of...
No notes on intended OG in instructions or on website. Can was 1.7 KG of extract.
So, are you suggesting that even if it wasn't well mixed or aerated enough that it will eventually 'mix' itself through the fermentation process?
I am guessing that waiting another week in the primary would be...
okay, thanks for the quick replies!
It was a can of coopers extract (IPA). Partial boil (1 gallon of water) to mix with extract and then top up fermenting bucket with cold water (as per brewing instructions) to get to an appropriate temperature to pitch yeast.
Cheers,
