    Konadog's Keezer

Anyone have feedback on the Taprite 4-way secondary CO2 regulator used in this build? I'm planning to go 6-way, and Taprite seems to have the only product that goes over four. However, the higher-end Kegco secondaries look like a better design, and I found some complaints about the Kegco...

    Konadog's Keezer

Thanks for the tips! I hadn't known you could get push-to-connect for screw-in fittings, but you and Google have shown me the light. I'll check back in once I get the build rolling. Cheers all

    Konadog's Keezer

HI, Konadog, that looks great! Well done. I just purchased that exact same freezer, and am planning on a similar build to yours. Any specific pitfalls you'd caution against? Also, what was the magic number you used for gas line length, to let you reach everywhere without a bunch of slack...

    Excess bittering

Thanks! It seems like it'll be a decent beer when it's done, so the idea of tasting and keeping notes as it ages is solid. Pretty sure that the inefficiency was because I messed up a PH measurement at the start of the mash and let it stay too high, probably 5.8 or 5.9. What a fun learning...

    Excess bittering

Thanks for the ideas! I think this might be too subtle a beer for backsweetening, but that article you pointed to is a really good read.

    Excess bittering

Hi, I'm in late ferment with a sort-of Jai Alai IPA clone, and have one issue... My mash efficiency wasn't quite what I was after, and I didn't want to get the caramel flavors that come with a heavy boil-down, so it came out at about 6.5 ABV instead of the targeted 7.4. The overall flavor is...

    Show us your Kegerator

I haven't found much in writing either, but heard a few things on Brulosophy podcasts that I've incorporated that seem to work. Here is pretty much everything I know about kegging: 1) After cleaning, and also checking all of the connections, fill the keg with sanitizing solution, seal it and...

    Mongo IPA recipe

Kicking an old thread - my wife and I love Mongo and I want to understand its magic. Has anyone made progress on this? Looking at avocadojr's recipe and notes, the note at the bottom looks to my newbish eye like a dry hop spec, as it comes to 2.4 #/gallon, which I understand is middle ground...
