    New to this.

So I just bought 40 lbs. Of stayman winesap apples and need another 40 lbs to mix with it. I can get certain apples at cost from my work so I was thinking of adding in another 20 of McIntosh and 20 of honeycrisp. What do you think?

    Temp control

I just got a cheap used fridge that i can use for fermentation. I live in New Mexico so brewing anywhere between feb.-oct. is pretty pointless without some sort of controlled temperature. Is there a recommended temperature controller i should use for inside the fridge? Thanks.

    Full Boil?

With Tax time approaching I am going to upgrade just a little bit. I want to do a full boil instead of adding the water. I am still on the extract/specialty grain kits. How big of a pot should i get? And is there a certain amount of BTU output on burners i should look for? I've seen one for...

I've been looking online for oak barrels for wine making. I've seen them range from about 175-300....My mom is big into wine making but she seems to have everything but an oak barrel, so i figure this would be a perfect present for her...Does anyone know the cheapest or best place to order one...

    Mr. Beer

They are all different so i dont think pairing up a red ale and heffeweizen would be too good. They are hopped DME it looks like. I'm slowly converting my bro in law away from bud light so these mr beer kits could be the way to fully do it.

    Mr. Beer

So for Christmas last year my aunt bought me some Mr. Beer kits. She knows i brew beer but instead of the Brewer's Best 5 gallon kits, she got me Mr. Beer 2 gallon kits. I know Mr. Beer isn't too great, but i'm not the type of guy to not pass up 12 gallons of free beer. Granted it won't be as...

    Tannins in the wort?

Not long at all, soon as I saw it I took the pot off the eye. Then let the grains steep for 30 minutes on the counter

    Tannins in the wort?

I was brewing porter yesterday and while steeping the grains, the temperature got up to like 175. I still do the brewers best kits and the ones in the past had said not to let the grains get past 170° or else tannins would be released. This one did not say that. So did I inadvertently release...
