Cause of pressure build-up in my cider bottles?

Thanks Yooper - It has recently got warmer in our apartment.

Cause of pressure build-up in my cider bottles?

But, why would it take 3 or 4 months for this to happen? Is it ok to drink? I must have thrown out the paper once it was bottled and don't have the SG reading, but I'm an amateur at this and wouldn't have bottled until I had the necessary reading. That doesn't rule out a mistake on the...

Cause of pressure build-up in my cider bottles?

A made cider from a kit a few months ago. The cider is NOT carbonated. However, today I open one that was under pressure and was very fizzy. When I looked at the remain few bottles, most have at least some extra pressure and one had so much pressure that the plastic bottle was distorted and...

How full does carboy need to be?

    Ok - (OG - FG) X 131 = (1.060-1.012) X 131 = 6.288% Then I added about a gallon of water - so probably a bit over 4%. I'm OK with that.

How full does carboy need to be?

Yes Nanik, I transfered to the carboy from a bucket. I waited until after the foam subsided, about 3 days before the transfer. I don't think I need a blowoff tube anymore, as there was essentially no foam after the transfer. I have an airlock with rubber stopper on top and it is half filled...

How full does carboy need to be?

Wow, that was quick. Thanks guys. Now I know for next time. By the way, I used a "Brew House" kit. It doesn't say or even give a range of the expected alcohol content. What should I expect (That is, before I watered it down)?

How full does carboy need to be?

First time brewing. I transfered the beer to the carboy a couple of days ago. I showed the pic that you see here to a coworker and he told me that there should be very litter air in the carboy and that I should boil some water and fill it up the rest of the way. I did that and now I wonder if...

    Tons of foam. Normal?

Thanks guys! Since I live in an apartment and don't have a basement or garage to do this in, I think I will get a blowoff tube for next time. It might keep my spare bedroom cleaner.

    Tons of foam. Normal?

First time here, so I may be asking a lot of questions. I purchased a Brew House beer kit and got started. After about 20 hours in the primary, I had foam that reached the cover and then dripped off the edges of the cover. The container is 46 liters and was about half full of liquid. I do...

    Greetings from Saskatchewan!

Hi all. I am originally from Wisconsin, but moved to SK several months ago. Since alcohol is very expensive here, I have decided to brew my one. I have purchased a kit and am starting to accumulate my beer making paraphernalia and look up info . . . and I ended up here. See ya around TMR
