Two thumbs up (more if I could) for Thermaworks!!

Tim here from ThermoWorks. What a thread... Actually, a PROPERLY made ice bath is a great way to test your thermometers: see http://www.thermoworks.com/blog/2010/11/is-one-calibration-point-enough/ Here's a little video on making a good bath for any thermometer test...

    Great Deal on Thermapens...

Glad to hear the TP is doing its job for you, Craig. I have to admit, I've been using one now for 6 or 7 months (from when I started at ThermoWorks) and I can't believe how much I use it (my wife too) for everything. Bruin and Tom, wish I could help you out with the free shipping (!!) but I'm...

    Great Deal on Thermapens...

rcrabb22, Keep in mind that you can disable the auto-off feature on your Thermapen so it doesn't time out on you. If you find it timing out frequently when you are using it you should definitely do this--there is plenty of battery life (1500 hours) for it to last years without a battery change...

    Thermapen...

That's awesome, Cazamodo. You should be getting a free copy of the new "Using Your Thermapen" booklet with more tips and info in your Thermapen package. Plus you can always come to Thermapen.com for posts, videos, etc. Happy brewing!

    Thermapen...

Wildwest450, While there is some slight variation between Thermapens, you should find that your Thermapen gets to within one degree of the actual temp within three seconds.*After the display has slowed (after 3 seconds) it is normal for the tenths to keep changing as the real temperature...

    Thermapen...

That sounds about right. Glad you're enjoying your Thermapen! For a quick way to figure the boiling temp where you live, see http://www.thermoworks.com/BoilingPointCalculator

    Thermapen...

There are many differences, of course. The main ones being the speed and range. The Thermapen gives accurate readings in 3 seconds or less (often less) while the thermometer you've linked to (RT610B) takes about 15 seconds. That's because it has a thermistor sensor and because of the size of the...

    Thermapen...

Hi, Yuri. Glad you're loving the Thermapen. No, that is not something we find. That would fit into the "rare" category. Glad you were able to get it going again. Please let us know if you have any future trouble. Happy Holidays. Tim

Interesting idea on the pH meter bundle. I'll get back to you on that. In the meantime, however, I can announce Free Shipping on all ThermoWorks orders over $49! :rockin: See http://www.thermoworks.com/emails/2010_12_stocking_stuffers.html Tim

    Thermapen...

On further review, Mr. Stuart apparently represents a reseller in Ireland and is not being completely forthright. The older Thermapens have been discontinued, are all but gone, and I believe these Irish Thermapens only read in Celsius--will not read in Fahrenheit. Thanks again, Tim

    Thermapen...

Hi everyone, Tim here from ThermoWorks. No offense to Mr. Stuart, but I just wanted to clarify that there are definitely more differences between the old Thermapen and the new Splash-Proof Thermapen than just "the shape." As indicated by the name, the new Splash-Proof Thermapen is protected from...
