    2 x 2 16 gauge - OK for 15+ gallons?

My advice on the frame is to use stainless. It will look good as assembled and won't require the time or cost to paint or coat it. I plan to own a GTAW in the near future so I can build my own stuff and also help fellow brewers.

    Spider Infestation in Brew Workshop

This reminds me of a thread from weeks ago. Get rid of the grubs and you get rid of the moles. I welcome spiders in my house because they take care of the flies. I also try not to feed the flies.

Refrigerator vs freezer for fermentation chamber

Sounds like that should work out good. Are you going to put it on a bench or table so you can gravity feed straight to bottling bucket or keg?

    harvesting yeast from frozen fruit

No disrespect but, if you want to kill wild yeast to add fruit in beer the common advice is to freeze and thaw with another freeze and thaw that will also break down cell walls as well as kill any micro organisms including yeast during the process. With all due respect, that would be a good...

    Sweetening and bottle conditioning questions

I guess I can quote myself. Who knew? It's like asking how do you like your coffee rather than what coffee. Cream or sugar? 1 or 2? I understand this isn't traditional to blend or mix a beer or a cider at serving from a bottle but ask anybody that has more than 2 taps if they have...

    Sweetening and bottle conditioning questions

Sugar content can be measured by brix or any other gravity reading. Different sugars will have a different perceived sweetness. The only way to know if it is to your taste is to taste it. As a general rule if comparing to tea 1 cup of sugar per gal is sweet. 1.5-2c/g is southern style...

    Sweetening and bottle conditioning questions

My preferred method is to sweeten at serving. To expand on that, I ferment till finished which is for me about 3 weeks in primary and 3 months in secondary. Then use a measured amount of sugar at bottling to achieve the desired carbonation. I prefer my cider dry but my wife likes hers sweet...

Packaging Wine like Beer: Harmful or No?

Personally I would either boil and then cool the water or treat the water or must with camdon or use RO water. Edit: and btw, I bottle all of my wine in beer bottles. I have even used the aluminum pint bottles and plastic soda bottles.
