    Irish Blonde Ale

Looking for an Extract recipe that I can scale down into a 1 or 2 gallon batch. The Irish Blonde Ale caught my eye in the NB catalog, but I'm not ready to do a full size batch of something I'm not sure I''d like... Any recipies or suggestions would be awesome!

So if a location had a large variety of hops, malts, grains, etc available to buy in measured amounts (1 oz incriments for hops, .25 lb incriments for grains & DME) approx how much would you guys be ordering in a month... or if you know about what you spend at the LHBS now that you work too...

    Hard Lemonade

I've been using the "Simply Lemonade" product... I take about a cup of my lemonade/sugar/water mix and dilute it with another cup of warm water, then pitch my yeast and let it go for a good 30 minutes, add a little more of the lemonade mix & wait another 30 minutes, then dump the whole "starter"...

The input has been very helpful, and now I'm starting to get a better handle on what home brewers are looking for... always dangerous, but I'm gonna ask for opinions on beer kits, are the Mid-west kits worth the cost, or is it just easier to find a good recipe and buy everything seperate? I only...

Very good info! I'm working on the bulk ingredients side of things too, particularly trying to find local (to Maine at least) sources for things like hops, grain, honey, etc. Grapes are hard because the season is so short, but I like the thought of being able to mail order speciality items... I...

    LHBS Stuff

Thanks for the input, I was thinking about the honey already sine there is a fairly large apiary not too far away, but being in maine they ship all their bees to florida for the winter.... Gonna keep working on it though....

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Didn't read all 71 pages, so if this has already be mentioned please forgive me, but 1 gallon jugs are great for getting started with home brew and you can get them for .15 to .25 cents at the redemption center! I used a free 5 gallon food grade bucket (thank you wal-mart bakery) as my primary...

Very good input so far, keep it coming please! Also what sizes of tubing are most popular, I assume 1/4, 5/16, and maybe 3/8"?

    LHBS Stuff

Hello All, I am looking into opening a LHBS and wanted some input from the home wine makers here on HBT. I know the basics, wine kits, chems, etc., but I'm interested in what you would like to see at your LHBS, or what you order online, but wouldn't mind buying local to save on the...

    Dream LHBS

Hey All, looking for some help from all the brewers on HBT... I am doing research into opening a LHBS, and I just wanted some input from the "uses" on what they want to see, what they usually buy locally, and in there are any LHBS owners/ operators what doesn't work. I know the basics, hops...

    Traditional wine gone wrong...

Well he had let it "naturally" ferment and then age for 1 year in an oak barrell, we filtered it several times, adjusted the ph, labeled his bottles, and bottled the product. We are by no means a large outfit, but doing 350 ish bottles in about 4 hours with just two people would be really hard...

    Traditional wine gone wrong...

Thanks for all the tips & advice, cust told us to bottle it anyway, so 350 ish bottles later he has his "wine" and we got paid... Doesn't seam right, but I gues in the end it's about the business. Things would have been a lot different if he was paying us to consult, not just bottle...

    Traditional wine gone wrong...

He wanted a traditional or natural ferment, however in central maine the grapes don't get ripe enough... I think thats where some of the tart comes in, but the grapes must have had some vinegar bacteria on them too...
