    NEW StrangeBrew Elsinore Thread

Thanks, Doug! I've brewed a few times on my new electric system and I am very happy with the software. I'd happily buy you some beers too. I'm in Ottawa, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Great, thanks! Which issue is this fixing? Is this the issue some of us have had with the service script not working?

It's the same for me. Had it working as a service, but a recent update stopped it from working. I didn't go back to previous versions, but I may now.

Which browser are you using? I found Chrome to work better than Firefox and Safari.

The debian init script uses port 8088. I tried changing to 8080 and it still didn't work. Are you using the provided init script?

Did you figure anything out to get the elsinore.debian script running? I haven't been able to get it going on my RPi, and I'd really like to. Just can't figure out what might be wrong. The only changes I made to the supplied debian script is to change the path to 'launch.sh' and to comment out...

I also have that exact problem with the Debian Elsinore service script. Haven't been able to figure out why yet.

I used the 6" thermowells from Duda Diesel with 1/2" male NPT threads and a cable retention. I screwed these into a camlock (type E, I think) which makes it really easy to remove the thermowell for cleaning my kettle. I don't have any pics, but I could take some if you're interested.

Okay, I see. I had just recloned and hadn't shut down yet, so it didn't exist. I had been using the "elsinore.ubuntu" script, but when I was looking for the elsinore.cfg file, found that you'd uploaded a debian version. Enabling that script instead seems to have solved the issue, likely...

I assume you don't mean the config.txt file in /boot/? I can't find an elsinore.cfg file anywhere in the SB_Elsinore_Server directory, or any others for that matter. Can you point me to the location it might be on a Raspberry Pi?

Is anyone else having this issue? I can always run Elsinore from a fresh install without problems, but as soon as I reboot the RaspPi, it won't start up again and gives me the following messages. In reading it, I can't really tell what the problem is. My only solution so far has been to remove...

    NEW StrangeBrew Elsinore Thread

I brewed for the first time on my new electric system yesterday in a somewhat insulated garage which was around -20, as well. My wifi connection was intermittent, so I connected a laptop to my BBB through USB. Part way through my boil, my laptop stopped working as it was too cold. The panel...

I was running both from the jGPIO directory... Ugh, should have figured that out. Just got me because the first worked, but the second didn't. Just ran it, and it worked. Thanks!

Doug - thanks for the replies. Sorry for asking so many questions! I was hoping someone other than you would be able to answer some of my questions to give you a break. Looking through your documentation in the jGPIO repository, and using the command you supplied, I am able to list the free...

I read through that and it isn't clear to me if I need to create one DTS file listing all the pins I want to use (input from temp sensors and output to SSRs), compile it, and place it in the /lib/firmware/ folder, or if I can create a separate DTS file for each pin I'd like to use, compile each...
