Not entirely correct, Type 45's were produced to increase the alpha of noble varieties such as Saaz and Tradition to reduce shipping costs and reduce brewhouse loadings. High alpha hops don't lend themselves to type 45 production as forming a pellet is almost impossible with the higher resin to...
