    Help on a cereal stout

Howdy folks, I'm looking to make a cap'n crunch stout this weekend for an upcoming competition. I have a really solid milk stout recipe, and my plan is to basically add 2 boxes of peanut butter crunch about 3 days into fermentation. Either that, or I might do count chocula and frankenberries if...

Irish Stout Ode To Arthur, Irish Stout (Guinness Clone)

Beersmith can be kinda weird about sparge volumes sometimes. A single batch with the total required volume from both calculated sparges is fine.

Watermelon wheat: extra juice = under-carbed?

Basically your carbonation level will be 20% lower. So mmaybe slightly noticeable. how many volumes did you estimate?

    Bulk Barley seed in Denver?

Maybe Arkansas valley? Just try contacting root shoot and see if you can find out where they get theirs.

Need a little help with my Tangerine wheat experment.

I love mandarina. This should work nice....i think a whirlpool add, like 2 oz, would play nice with the tangerine. I have an Amarillo/ mandarina IPA planned that should be like a fresh orange, if it goes as planned. Great hop!

    Trip to Belgium!!

This is all excellent info, thanks everyone. I'd also like to hit Westmalle, they're one of my faves. Can I get the westveletren beers pretty much anywhere? I'd planned on bringing back some quads....do I have to go to the abbey to get them, or are they relatively available in-country? I've...

    Trip to Belgium!!

Hey guys, I'm heading to Belgium with my wife and son (8 year old) next month for a week or so, and and starting to make plans for the trip. Our basic plan is to fly in to Brussels and make that home base for the week, and either rent a car (is driving difficult there?) or hire a driver (I've...

Experiences with different saison yeast blends

I'm really enjoying a saison I brewed with corn, using a blend of white labs and wyeast saison. I made a starter from a vial of WLP565 and a packet of 3724, both belgian saison blends. After high krausen, I added 50 mL of 3711. This blend just finished it's 3rd beer, and the result, is very...

    New Belgium Has Landed

Agreed on that, that Ben & Jerrys beer was a serious letdown. It was like a chocolate coconut stout or something, wasn't it?

    National Homebrew Competition

Wow, very impressive. It would be the achievement of a lifetime for me to medal! I'm sure it's not in the cards this year. But, my re-brewed irish stout is chilling right now, pretty much hit all my same numbers again, so fingers crossed? Also, this might be of interest to some. I don't own...

    National Homebrew Competition

Excellent, thanks. I never really planned on making it through, so never put much thought into the second round...hell, my 2nd place stout only scored a 33. What's going on Denver stout brewers, you can do better than that!

    Sweet Stout Deception Cream Stout

I would think this would be a solid choice to add strawberry and chocolate. Use the strawberry puree, 2 cans if you want some real apparent strawberry flavor.
